TREAT- This word of the day, as with so many in the English language, may be use as both subject and predicate (verb or action word). We, for instance, may hear someone say “I have a special treat for you”. Often such treats are in the form of sweets, but may be anything perceived as being special for you. The verb usage might be exampled thusly; “Don’t go in there. He will treat you terribly”. At the risk of being redundant, I will mention that I have written and published a book. Wilderness Cry- A Scientific and Philosophical approach to Understanding God and the Universe. This book offers you a real “treat”. I am allowed to say that because I “treat” the subject of God and His MO (mode of operation) in a way never before espoused. That treatment required a definition of God’s “essence”which, by its very nature, not only allows but demands a clear explanation and understanding of all the so-called mysteries in our lives. Now that is a “real treat”! It explores and defines in very certain terms basically all of our imponderables. Volumes could be written about each entity discussed, but that would have defeated my purpose. Likely, only the most studious would persevere through such verbiage. Conversation-Wilderness Cry-Hilary L Hunt MD
Conversation is likely the most used mode of communication the world has known to date. It can be verbal or cyber, even mathematical. It can be general or specific, sign language or code, pleasant or hostile, just to mention a few attributes. It can even be one-sided as in a lecture if questions are allowed. I have written a book’ Wilderness Cry- A Scientific and Philosophical Approach to Understanding God and the Universe. In this book I am attempting to converse with you a philosophy of God and His mode of operation, which likely you have never heard before. I call it a conversation because repeatedly, I ask for any and all meaningful rebuttal. In actually defining God as “A Perfect Rational Being”, I am easily able to answer and define all the imponderable “mysteries” in our lives; The Trinity, God’s Will, Eternity, overview of the science of creation, the soul. I show that God is Perfect Love which means “acceptance without conditions”. In applying those principles to our daily lives and existence, I am able to show that because of our failure to recognize the basics of personality development, our legal system is way off base in administering corrective measures. Those measures should be more in the form of loving rehabilitation of our neighbor where possible, rather than punishment. Developing those principles allow me to show that ideologies and religion are the worst enemies of peace because they divide us by setting us against one another. COMMUNAL: I suspect this word conjures up a variety of imaginary thoughts among readers. In general, I think it suggests a commonality of thought and/or existence. I want to concentrate today on “one commonality” of thought. Just simple casual observance will show, indisputably, how religion and ideology have created turmoil in society since the beginning of recorded history and likely before. Regardless of whether or not one believes in God or Christianity, you will be forced to admit the validity of one simple concept, reportedly, given to us by Jesus. He told us to Love our God with our all and Love our neighbor as ourselves. In His wisdom, He saw those dicta as uniting factors. He also recognized religion and ideology as dividing factors. If we as a world society could ever come to accept Jesus’ suggestions as our guiding principles, there would be peace. Absent that, peace is not possible. TORN-Wilderness Cry-Hilary L Hunt MD
TORN-When I hear the worn torn’ I instantly experience a momentary “sinking feeling” in my chest; it matters not in what sense the word is being used. The word torn seemingly always expresses an idea of disruption of wholeness. That in itself creates a feeling of dismay and sadness. I suspect, in my case and likely most peoples cases, that reaction is based on a subconscious attitude about the descriptive meaning and implications of the word instilled in us at an early age. Generally, the reaction of sadness is justified. Some examples come to mind: it tore the family apart; the wind tore the roof off their house; recently, I saw photograph of two neutron stars colliding and being torn into pieces like a crumbling snowball (the event happened 13 billion years ago years ago shortly after the Big Bang): the temple curtain supposedly was rent (torn) into at the moment of Jesus’ death. Just a few examples—. That brings me to a subject near and dear to my heart, the gradual and most certain eventual demise (tearing apart) of Christianity. Many, maybe most, of you may shriek in horror at such a suggestion. However, if you were conversant with current and past events in Christian history, you may not be so horrified. According to the World Christian Encyclopedia, as of the year 2014, there were 33,000 Christian denominations in the world; each claiming to be the correct one; an astonishing number and growing. One has to only casually observe and notice a new church springing up “on every street corner”. The associated problem is simple; religion is a divider; I’m right and you’re wrong. Why do you suppose that is. I firmly believe the reason lies in the fact that no one, not even His apostles, knew who Jesus really was. As a result, when he died , all sorts of conflicting ideas arose in an attempt to satisfy preconceived ideas. As time went on, warring religious factions forced Constantine, emperor of Rome, to convene a council of the most numerous groups at Nicaea. He commissioned them to formulate one, singular church which became the official state religion; dissidents had two choices, beheading or exile. However, as human nature goes, the heretics survived, and were forcefully put down by government forces dictated by the church. Fast forward to Martin Luther; he had the “gall” to point out the abuses of the church. By breaking away from the main church, he set the stage for any and all to formulate their own ideas and form a new church. These new churches were predicated on individual interpretation of a book already so corrupted that no one could say with certainty what Jesus said or did. So now we have televangelists, megachurches, papists and the like hammering each word of that book, holding their listeners spellbound and captive; and for what reason? Power, Money , and Control. The one thing Jesus supposedly told us that makes sense is seldom ever mentioned; that being His two simple dicta to love our God with our all and love our neighbor as ourselves. Those commands are designed to unite us. Religion divides us. We are becoming so fragmented (torn apart), that soon each person who attempts to maintain some form of Christianity will be a religion unto himself. Likely, what will happen is what we are seeing now; church attendance is in steady decline. Why? Because the message is becoming less and less meaningful. The one meaningful message, love of God and neighbor is too simple; there’s no money, power, nor control to be extracted by that message. Sad indeed.
Miraculous-Wilderness Cry-Hilary L Hunt MD
MIRACULOUS- This word is used in many different ways of intent. We often hear someone say “It’s miraculous how ——“. or “Its miraculous that he didn’t get killed—-“, and the likes. I suspect that, unwittingly, those speakers are drawing on an ill-defined idea deeply tucked into both their conscious and subconscious minds. By way of their indoctrination, usually religious, they have been led to believe that by Divine intervention, something “miraculous” happens; that means simply, if God had not intervened some disaster would have occurred. Of course, the implication is that God “plays favorites”; had it been someone else, God would not have intervened. Such ideation presumes that God is changeable. Lets just examine that idea and see if it has credibility. Would anyone argue against the idea that God is Perfect? Would anyone argue against the idea that Perfect means unchangeable: it can neither be improved upon nor detracted from? Would anyone argue that in order for God to intervene, He would have to “change” His mind? If he changed His mind, his perfection would be destroyed; He no longer would be perfect; He would be willy-nilly”. So philosophically and logically, true miracles are impossible. If we were capable of analyzing every aspect of every event, we would see clearly why the consequences we observe occurred. So we are forced to conclude that every event in this universe is the direct consequence of all foregoing consequences, not miracles. What is “miraculous”, to use the term very loosely, is God’s eternal plan which “allowed” for the consequences of the Einsteins of the world to appear. The greatest of those, of course, was Jesus. His intellect had to be in the Super-genious category; He recognized the universal evil of everything by virtue of its’ visible and demonstrable “selfishness”; He recognized that God made it that way, so His universe could function; He recognized God’s need for Perfect Love; He recognized that His soul and the soul “essence” of everything in existence mirrored its Creator. Since He was the only one to understand that concept, He recognized that He had to be the Messiah; the one to “pay the price” that all the evil in the universe could be expiated, and thereby assuring eternal bliss for all while, at the same time, demonstrating the Father’s Perfect Love, “acceptance without conditions”. He did so willingly but, being human, not without unbelievable fear and trepidation. That was a truly “miraculous” act. And what can and should we do? A purely intellectual response; “Thank You Lord God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit (will of God). Amen. For instance, we may hear someone say he/she got a calling to preach. In such a case, it is likely that persons personality has been per-programmed to subconsciously expect such a calling. If we are Christian, we must accept the fact that Jesus calls us to honor His two commandments; Love God with our all, and love (accept) our neighbor as ourselves. If we as a society ever come to universally honor that calling, there will be peace. Until then there will be nothing but strife. RELATE- Wilderness Cry-Hilary L Hunt MD
The word relate means a general identity with someone, something, or some idea. I would like to talk today about how we relate to our Creator and to each other. Preachers of all sorts beat every word of the bible, both Old and New Testament, as though each word was the end all, be all, of everything. They hammer on each idea as though it were free standing and self sufficient for either our salvation or condemnation. Many of them concentrate on God’s mercy, which implies guilt on our part. What we are “guilty” of is being human; and who made us human? God. So how is it we are guilty of being what we were made to be? It all stems from the Old Testament concept of Justice: an eye for an eye and a tooth for tooth. That concept was perpetuated by Christians in the form of “original sin” which makes us guilty from the moment of conception. Of course guilt demands punishment in like degree. However, if we beg (pray) hard enough (how much is enough ?), God may show us mercy, I believe all that is a contrivance aimed at controlling us and extracting money and services from us to further their cause. Now lets get back to RELATE. Jesus gave us only two dicta to abide by; Love your God with your all, and love your neighbor as yourself. What that means is we must relate (accept) God in whatever conceptualization we can, and we must relate, (accept) our neighbor as we would like to be accepted. Jesus recognized humanities universal evil (selfishness) instilled in everything by God so His universe could function. He recognized God’s need of Perfect Love. He brought that Perfect Love to fruition by His own death. Jesus related to everything in existence and He related to His own generator, Eternal God. So God does not and has not shown mercy, He has shown us Perfect Love by accepting (relating) to us through the sacrificial death of Jesus. Compass- Wilderness Cry- Hilary L Hunt MD
As everyone knows, a compass gives us direction from our current location. It is used in various circumstances, and almost always, as a guide. That would represent a physical compass which is important indeed in our lives at various times and circumstances. There is another spiritual and/or moral compass that has been imposed upon mankind by governments and institutions throughout its’ history. That compass has been represented and imposed on us by various ideologies and/or religions. Each of those compasses point to a slightly or greatly different direction. Like a physical compass, these moral compasses impose serious consequences if not adhered to. If we ignore the direction given by a physical compass, we become lost. If we ignore the direction of an ideology or spiritual compass, we are punished by either physical and/or psychological torment. The physical torment may be any combination of fines, incarceration, flogging, or execution; all of these are temporary and tolerable (this too shall pass). The psychological, however, is permanent; we are lead to believe that we are evil and that eternal punishment in the form of damnation is inevitable if the dictates of the specific “moral” compass are not followed. The problem arises and becomes astounding when we realize there are 33,000 Christian compasses alone on earth, to say nothing of all other religions. Each if those thousands and thousands of moral compasses are pointing in a different direction. Is it possible that any one of them is pointing due North? Possible but not likely. The reason is clear; not a single one of them is pointing at the dicta of Jesus the Christ. Those two dicta to Love God with your all and love (accept) your neighbor as yourself are too simple to preach. They impart no power, money nor control on the compass. For that simple reason alone, the world is filled with strife and, sadly, will stay that way. The only way to get on the straight and narrow of the correct compass is for all the religions and ideologies to “get off their high horses”, and humbly acknowledge Jesus” two commands.
