JESUS-HILARY L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngJESUS of NAZARETH—Just who was/is Jesus of Nazareth? Does Anyone know? Paul’s sidekick Mark, who wrote the first gospel gives us absolutely no clue except Jesus’ proclamation that he and the Father were one. Years later Matthew and Luke embellished Marks writings on both ends with remarkable contradiction of each other. John’s acolyte(s) some sixty years after Jesus’ death concocted a tale incorporating the notion that God and Jesus coexisted from all eternity, whilst at the same time implying that nothing else coexisted with them. We know from the writings of Professor Garry Wills in his book What Paul Meant, that Luke was a veritable liar and cannot be trusted. So just where does that leave us poor simpletons who are at the mercy of religion to tell us? From my perspective it leaves us in a deep, deep, dark dudgeon of deceit. And you, understandably, would question why I would say such a heretical thing.

When one traces the origins of the ‘one true religion’ of the time, Judaism, it becomes quite obvious that it was developed from multiple preconceived notions of mythology and astrology. The Zodiac developed by the Egyptians some fourteen thousand years ago, had become the foundation for essentially all religious belief. The Egyptians, Greeks and essentially all cultures had gods galore—each with its specific functions. The sun, moon and stars played the biggest role in the imaginative ideas they developed.

When the Jews came with the idea of a singular God who had created the entire universe, they indeed struck a ‘high note’. Not only did they give their God credit for creating everything, they actually developed a time-frame of sorts for its happening. In addition they surmised that in the beginning, all animal life was peaceful and benevolent—-even snakes could talk. They all co-existed in paradise.

IMG_0082However, observing their current plight at the time forced them to explain what happened—where did paradise go? Well, since woman was the ‘scourge’ creation, it became immediately fashionable to put the blame on her. So they conveniently developed the tale of Eve tempting Adam to break God’s rule, that is to sin—the fun was over—how sad.

To the unwary that story may sound like a suitable, appeasing explanation. However there is one little detail that was  overlooked. We seem to forget that snakes could ‘talk’ and guess what—it was the snake who was the first sinner—the snake enticed Eve to sin. Where did the serpent come up with such a dastardly idea as to defy its God?  Now isn’t that a startling turn of events—it wasn’t Eve’s fault after all. Who planted the ‘seed’ of defiance in the snakes brain—wouldn’t you like to know—I would.

The rather obvious answer to those ridiculous proposals and questions is nobody—none of it ever happened. The fictional Eve became the obvious scapegoat because women were then, and always have been considered something only  slightly better than ‘pond scum’. So no one in his ‘right mind’ would question the fact that a woman caused all the trouble. Furthermore, everyone knew that snakes talked perfect Yiddish—didn’t you?

So you may say, what’s that got to do with Jesus of Nazareth? and I would say everything. When Jesus came along, He puzzled, startled, bewildered, and angered people. Everyone who knew him was aware that he was just a poor carpenters son—how could he be making such statements and proclamations. My answer to that very legitimate question stems from my definition of the essence of God. That definition shows clearly that God’s perfection precludes any possibility of physical miracles. Likewise it negates any possibility of Hell. God is Perfect Love and cannot possibly reject any part of his perfect creation. Likewise God’s perfect nature precludes any possibility of change, a necessity for physical miracles.

Jesus was a simple carpenter’s son, However, I am convinced that he was the most brilliant human to ever live. He was born of natural parents but his genius allowed him to see though the folly of the Jewish religion. The Jew’s God was an Overlord with a mighty whip. He sat on his throne and kept a keen eye on his creation which was separate from him—ever-ready to hurl punishment at violators. Jesus saw a completely different God—a God that permeated everything in existence—a God who could not possible be separated from his creation—nothing could ‘be’ without the inner presence of God.

IMG_1065That insight, of course, told Jesus that his own being and the Spirit of the Father were One. Knowing that the universe was universally evil by virtue of its selfishness told Jesus that atonement was mandatory in order for God to be Perfect Love. That realization sent a shock-wave through Jesus—that meant that since he was the only one with that knowledge, he had to be the scape-goat—he was the messiah—he had to pay the price.

The implications from Jesus’ insights were astonishing. Whereas the Jews considered death as the end of everything, Jesus’ realization on the other hand that everything was a mirror image of God  meant that everything had an eternal existence just as its creator. After undoubtedly consulting with his cousin, John, he hastily set about attempting to recruit and educate a group to spread that good news (Gospel) to the entire world. Whether or not he was successful in that endeavor, we will never know—so corrupt is the written word we have.

In any event the Jews killed him by hanging him on a tree—-crucifixion which was reserved for traitors. From there we can only guess at what happened. The written word we have was copied from one remaining copy which was a copy of hundreds, maybe thousands of copies—that single copy was made some two hundred years after the original writing. We do know that from that time on dozens of ‘versions’ have appeared over the years. The noted Professor of Bible at North Carolina University, Dr. Bart Ehrman, shows that only %30 of the bible was written by its supposed author. Also as one example, he shows clearly that Jerome, the hermit, who despised women and sex, in the process of translating the bible from Greek to Latin, changed or eliminated any mention of a woman doing or saying anything ‘good’.

It seems clear that Jesus’ basic message was that God is love—his only command was love God with your all and love your neighbor a yourself. My definition of the essence of God (God is a perfect rational being) supports that ideation completely.

Both Jesus and Paul despised religion—they said that love must prevail. But when Constantine gave the ‘Bishops” a mandate to fashion a religion to their liking, they did just that. They fashioned a religion right out of the Jewish play-book—all about power, money and control. We have been shackled with it and its 33,000 variants since. And what has it gotten us—-perpetual turmoil.

So what’s the point?—it makes no difference—God loves us each equally—Jesus died for our iniquity—anything else is fairy tales.

I have written extensively about this subject in my two books Wilderness Cry and Peace in Spirituality—both books published by Covenant Books and available on line and from me if desired. I have attached press releases and short video trailers for each.

PRAYER-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngThe subject of prayer is one near and dear to my heart—as well it may and should be to all. How do you pray and why. Have you ever stopped to consider why you pray the way you do? I would suggest that literally everyone who prays has been preconditioned to pray a certain way and that most of those prayers are of  contrition  and  petition—many, of course, make a swipe at thanksgiving.

Having said that, lets examine the basis for our prayers. The contrition part befits us all—definitely we all are sinners (selfish). Quite obviously we all have much to be thankful for—our life, our sustenance and hopefully out salvation. But what about prayers of petition—why do we feel a justifiable need or right to beg God for anything? The only reason I  can see is the basic idea of  dualism.

Those Old Testament Christians who still believe that God created his universe and then continually lords over it could be called dualist—that is they believe God is here watching over his creation which is over there. In other words, they see God as directly micromanaging every tiny aspect of their lives. If they do something wrong, he sees it and will certainly inflict punishment if that wrong is not addressed properly. Additionally, they see God as being able and possibly willing to make something happen just for them if begged long and hard enough—they not only believe in miracles but rather expect them. They  believe God can change the course of events with the snap of his fingers. That’s what the Old Testament God was like. So they feel not only allowed but obliged to beg God to change his mind.

IMG_0082So dualism originated in the mythological thinking of  the ancients and it persist today. There may be some non-dualist religions but I not aware of any—not at least in Christianity. I think that likely the Hindus and Buddhists were for the most part nondualists.

There have been and still are many, many individual philosophers who have recognized the presence of God in everything.  They are able to see God’s perfection (Spirit, Will, Love) in all living and inanimate existences. Jesus the Christ (light of the world) was the first Christian to see that clearly. He attempted to indoctrinate his followers to that good news (gospel) before they killed him. The recorded writings are so corrupt and distorted as to make it impossible to know. There are many hints in Paul’s writings—several in both John’s Gospel and Epistle. Personally, I have discovered the most straightforward assertions in the Coptic Gospel of Thomas. Jesus keeps saying over and over in different words and examples the same message—I am in everything and everything is in me. He told them ‘the kingdom of God is spread out all over the earth and you don’t see it’. He made that remark in response to their continued query about when he was going to ‘restore the kingdom’.

Saint Francis of Assisi was a firm believer in a nondualist existence. The Franciscan philosophy has always affirmed that belief. It is a ‘miracle’ that the Catholic Church has not excommunicated them, because it certainly professes a dualist attitude and understanding about God—almost all ‘Catholic’ prayers are prayers of ‘petition’—that is begging God to ‘change’ something or somebody, or some state of existence. As a child raised as a devout Catholic, I spent hours and hours on my knees begging God directly and through the saints in heaven to make things happen. I was not once able to detect any direct answer to my imploring—likewise not once could I detect any answer to our entire parish begging and pleading with God to make something happen. I was told by my priest that it was God’s will. I was eleven to twelve years old at the time—old enough to reason that if that were the case, it was obvious that God’s will could not be influenced. That recognition prompted me to embark on ‘A Journey of Understand’.

IMG_1065That journey forced me ‘out of the box’ in my thinking—something was dreadfully wrong and I was determined to find out. That determination rapidly led to my conclusion that no one really knew who God was—God was just an imaginary entity dreamed up right out of the Jew’s playbook. I was dismayed to learn that no one had ever defined the essence of God—without an essential definition, God is ‘pure fiction’. After years of intense study and contemplation, but more importantly after my study of Quantum Mechanics (particle physics), the understanding of God’s essence became clear— God is a Perfect Rational being—what a revolutionary understanding!

That insight opened windows to an entirely new world—-it explained everything—it eliminated all mystery. My God was Perfect  in every respect—He knew everything, That knowledge gave him all power.  That perfection extended to his Perfect Love—meaning he accepts (loves, wills) everything his perfect intellect perceived (the Holy Spirit—Will of God). More importantly, that understanding of God’s perfect love means he cannot possibly reject any part of his creation—Hell is an impossibility. Furthermore his perfection means that ‘change of any type’ is impossible—God cannot possibly chance his nature. Therefore physical miracles are impossible.

With that understanding, it becomes obvious that prayers of petition are not only evidence of lack of understanding God’s essence (nature), but in addition a total waste of time.

What about prayers of contrition? I would venture to say that God does not ‘expect’ them—perfect love means acceptance without condition—God accepts (loves) everyone and everything equally. The only value I see in prayers of Contrition is that they may help us to be more loving of both our God and our neighbors. They certainly are not necessary.

So, is there any ‘justifiable’ prayer? I think prayers of thanksgiving , while not necessary nor demanded by God, they are, in fact justified. How then should we pray? I believe thusly; ‘Thank you dear Lord God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit (Will of God) for my existence, for my sustenance, and for my salvation through Jesus. Amen.

I have developed and expanded this philosophy extensively in my two books, Wilderness Cry and Peace in Spirituality—both published by Covenant Books. I should also note that Wilderness Cry has been selected as ‘Book of the Month’, by the Online Book Club for the coming month of December. They have one million members and only showcase twelve books each year—0ne each month.

Christmas-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngWhat does Christmas mean to you and why? I would vouch to say that for anyone even remotely indoctrinated in ‘Christianity’ of any type, it means a myth. And you, understandably shriek in horror at such blasphemy. And I say, “not so fast”. My intention is not to offend anyone—rather it is to plead to your sense of understanding.

Jesus was a real person just like you and I. The only real difference was that he was a ‘super-genius’. Without benefit of any basic scientific knowledge, Jesus was able to deduce the nature of God and his universe. Jesus was able to understand that he and everything in existence were mirror images of their creator—otherwise they could not be. He could see the universal condition of ‘selfishness’ in all things. He clearly understood that selfishness was an intrinsic necessity for existence and function—without selfishness, there would be no need–if there were no need, there would be no change—with no change, there would be no time—the universe would be functionless and frozen in ‘eternity’.

IMG_0082So ,why did we have a universe in the first place? I’m certain Jesus pondered that question incessantly—when he discovered the answer, he was terrified. God, his father, your father, my father, must show and actually be ‘perfect love’. What greater ‘love object’ could the Father have than an entire universe of ‘evil’ which he, himself created. Why, then, was Jesus terrified? Because he realized that since he was the only likeness of God to know and understand that principle, he was the one who had to ‘pay the price’—and gloriously he did. God, in the likeness of Jesus, accepted all of the evil in the universe, in the grandest display of love possible—he gave his own life in atonement.

Now lets back up to the birth of Jesus. Just last Sunday’s first Old Testament reading, we hear a prophet (I think Isaiah ) predict that ‘a virgin shall conceive’. Where he came up with that ridiculous idea would be interesting to know—I strongly suspect it was added in retrospect to support the superstitious ideas of the astrology mentality. Then three days later, we have the prediction come true.

If you have read my book, Wilderness Cry, you will know that I am the first person ever to define the essence  of God. I did so with six simple words– God is a perfect rational being. That perfection is translated into everything in existence—everything follows that perfect order. Therefore, physical miracles are an absolute impossibility. In order for a physical miracle to occur, God would need to change his nature—since God is perfect, change is an impossibility.

So why do we have the Nativity story as told in Luke’s gospel? I suspect Luke had to paint a ‘spectacular’ picture to satisfy his own superstitious and mythological mind. Professor Garry Wills, in his book, What Paul Meant, shows clearly that Luke is a veritable liar—every important aspect of Acts, which is meant to be a description of what Paul did and said, is at complete odds with what Paul, himself, wrote. Luke seems to have an uncanny penchant for fabricating tales to create a church the way he wants it.

IMG_1065Now, back to the ‘horror story’. From a sound and irrefutable, scientific and philosophical standpoint, physical miracles are an absolute impossibility. Therefore the following pertains: (1) Jesus was/is real: (2)he was born of natural parents: (3) of  necessity, he was a super-genius to see and recognize the nature of God and his creation: (4) once he concluded that he must die so the Father could be/exhibit his perfect love, he wanted desperately to tell the world the good news (gospel). So he set about his public ministry, working on the periphery attempting to educate twelve illiterates—it seems very doubtful to me that he succeeded: (5) in spite of his working and preaching in relative obscurity, his heretical teachings reached the ears of the Jewish authorities—he knew his days were numbered:(6) he went straight to the source—he made an onslaught on the temple—he turned over the moneychangers tables and called the some pretty nasty names while doing it: He then ate his last meal with his apostles, and while eating, he made one final desperate attempt to pierce their thick, prejudiced skulls—he told the that he and the Father are one just as they and the Father are one—he told them that the bread and wine they consumed were one with the Father, as was all of creation—it seems that most if not all of the didn’t understand–we have no certain way of knowing. Much of what was written was written by biased, superstitious people. Furthermore those writings have been altered extensively by other biased and superstitious people. (7) I believe without doubt that the ‘Jesus” story is basically true—its parameters are false.

It is noteworthy that the contemplative religions, Hinduism and Buddhism, basically can be summed up in the concept of trying to understand and define their Supreme Being—for that they are to be commended. The Abrahamic religions, on the other hand, are about appeasement.

For those of you who have not read Wilderness Cry and Peace In Spirituality, I strongly urge you to do so. You will garner a clear understanding of your Perfect God and your relationship with him—all  mystery and innuendo will be removed—you will then be able to have internal peace which will then assist you in being at true peace with your neighbor.

I am including press releases for both books as well a short video trailer for each.

Socialism-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngSOCIALISM: how often in the history of the USA  have we heard that term—in fact we are hearing and seeing it openly advocated by political candidates on a moment to moment basis. Essentially all of the ‘isms’ carry then same base brand—taking from the ‘haves’ and giving to the ‘have nots’. This is a political ploy as old as the hills. It appeals to many for two basic reasons. Number one, many ‘less fortunate’ folks are eager to get free stuff. Number two, many of those same people are envious of their more fortunate neighbors and selfishly desire  to see them reduced to financial ruin—the foolish idea that it betters one’s situation to see his neighbor fail–envy at it’s best.

So lets examine some causes of success and failure. Obviously there are many examples of inheritance wealth and,  of those, the ones who invest wisely and  well will succeed even more–those who are ill prepared for wealth will soon be ‘poor’. However, the vast majority of people who succeed, do so by hard work and determination—most of them would fall into the oft spoken of ‘middle class’. Then there  are the ‘poor’.

What causes people to be poor? There are a myriad of causes. Just to enumerate a few–birth into poverty of both wealth and motivation; psychological influences promoting such an attitude; physical and mental disabilities making meaningful industry essentially impossible (however, I personally know one person with severe IQ limitations who has consistently held two to three jobs simultaneously for thirty years and has done very well financially—he had great guidance. Obviously that is the exception rather than the rule.); bad luck; major unexpected health issues, etc.

The question arises as to how we, as a loving society, address these issues of poverty. The socialists scream, ‘take from the rich and give to the poor”. That appeals to many—free everything on the backs of the ‘rich’. Guess what happens—the rich quit producing because their effort are not rewarded; the poor are not capable of producing. So, what happens then—the good old ‘give away’  government is broke, the roof caves in, and the system fails. My research has revealed that no socialist government has lasted one hundred years. Just look at the USSR.

As a Capitalistic nation, we long ago established backstops against financial failure and medical collapse for many. That does not mean to say that reforms may be not needed–almost everything needs tweaking periodically to keep abreast of changing times.

It is quite obvious that most of the world is envious of our prosperity. Many world leaders would do anything to wreck our prosperity and make us poor as they are–then they would feel good. Many individuals break our laws daily entering our country illegally–they have the support of two major organizations, the Democratic Party and the Catholic Church. Both seem desperate for similar reasons. The Democrats want open borders so they can give the immigrants freebies and thereby garner their votes (power, money, control). The Church wants open borders to beef up their enrollment believing that eventually those people would get meaningful jobs and begin contributing to the ’empire’ (money, power, control).

The problem with all that pseudo philosophy is this—sooner or later the drag on our economic engine becomes to great and our system fails. So who’s the winner?–poverty.

So rather than killing the greatest machine ever known at the federal level, we need to become more ‘loving’ on the local, private level. Communities need to step up their local, support for the needy. In Paducah, Ky., there are many great organizations who assist the poor and needy on a daily basis—I am certain more can and should be done. The answer is not in federal ‘giveaway’ wastefulness, but rather local control with possible federal assistance.

As for the ‘open border’ situation we need our border closed tightly so legal immigration can proceed judiciously, As a nation we need to keep our ‘Giant Economic Engine” running wide open so we can afford to ‘assist’ other countries in developing  their own economic engines—little to be gained by destroying our engine in the name of Socialism. Jesus did not teach such a philosophy–‘render unto Caesar– ‘.

The above philosophy is spelled out explicitly in my two books. Wilderness Cry and Peace in Spirituality. Press releases and video trailers for each attached.

Contradiction-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngCONTRADICTION: the word itself mean a saying or statement that seems contrary to the reality or truth of another statement. Contradictions are a ‘dime a dozen’ in our everyday lives—may are readily resolved and many go totally unresolved. I want to address what seems to me do be a direct contradiction between Christian prayer and a direct quote from Luke’s Gospel.

The Christian prayer in question is the Apostles Creed which says, ‘Jesus was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. He arose again on the third day—‘ . Luke, in referring to Jesus’ crucifixion with the two insurgents on either side says that one of them rebuked Jesus for not saving  them and  himself, while the other scolds the first for rebuking Jesus, attesting that Jesus was innocent while they were getting their ‘just due’—he asked Jesus to ‘remember him when he came into his kingdom’. Jesus replied ‘this day thou shalt be with me in paradise’.

This appears to me to be a clear-cut example of ‘direct contradiction’. Some apologists, may attempt to explain it away with some hidden meaning of hell etc. However common folks speaking and hearing common language would definitely have a clear understanding that those two statements are a direct contradiction of one another.

As a matter of factual experience, during my 81 years of regular weekly/daily attendance at Catholic Mass, I have never once heard the issue addressed from the pulpit. I believe I know why—there is no rational explanation.

While I can’t prove either of the statements to be correct/incorrect, my strong suspicion is that neither is correct. In the first instance, no one knows what happened to Jesus’ soul, and in the second instance, we know from History Professor Emiratis, Garry Will, That Luke was a veritable liar. Professor Will, in his book, What Paul Meant, Shows clearly that everything Luke wrote in ‘Acts Of The Apostles’ was a total lie. Paul, you recall was the first writer—he wrote about his activities basically as they occurred. Luke’s writings about Paul’s activities bear no resemblance to Paul’s writings. Luke fashioned a religion the way he wanted it—not according to Jesus’ plan.

So, ‘right off the bat’ we have, contradictions galore and we have unfounded speculations galore all of which set the stage for the birth of more mythology founded religions—33,000 of them to be exact (as of 2014).

Preachers of every ilk have pounded the pages of that ‘holy book’ without the slightest notion of that they are saying—how can they possibly know? They speak incessantly about a god that they don’t know, and they speak incessantly about a Jesus they don’t know. And for what purpose?—money, power control. These same preachers  are building empires of structures, wealth an influence. Is That what Jesus supposedly told his apostles?—I don’t think so.

While shaking the dust off my cerebral cortex, I seem to remember Jesus telling his apostles to ‘go into the world and preach the good news that God loves you and that I have come to die for your salvation. Take no provisions; accept that is offered you; If you are not received, shake the dust off your sandals and move on’ (paraphrased). Of all the hundreds of thousands of preachers in the world, what percentage of them are concerned enough about your soul  to do as Jesus said?—I suspect extremely few. Do you see the hypocrisy as I do?

More importantly, do you see the lament?  While the preachers are amassing wealth, simultaneously they are unwittingly/possibly wittingly spreading hostility among Gods People—‘my preaching(church) is better than your’.

Please read my little books, Wilderness Cry , and Peace in Spirituality. In wilderness Cry I actually define the essence  of God, so now you may know explicitly just who your God is. In Peace in Spirituality, I show the absolute only fool-proof pathway to peace. Press Releases and video trailers for both books attached—all comments and questions welcomed.

Baptism With the Holy Spirit-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngAs suspected, yesterdays post about the history  of baptism, created  quite a   stir about the origin of baptism and its meaning. There are certain groups of Christians who cannot allow themselves that luxury of historical perspective. However, the  pagan origin of Baptism is undeniable. The ‘rub’ came when the Catholic Church declared Baptism a Sacrament, and  an essential for admission into heaven. That instantly created another loophole which had to be closed—that being  state  of limbo for the  un-baptized.

I will expose my ignorance here and declare that I do not know exactly  how the Fundamentalists  Christians came  to recognize  Baptism as a requirement for salvation. They don’t recognize Sacraments—some accept a few–Episcopalians accept them all—just don’t recognize the Pope. Suffice it to say, the pagan ritual of baptism was adopted by the Jews and  was eventually converted to a rite of ‘penitential cleansing’ by making John’s baptism as salvational.

IMG_0082So it is evident, the responsibility for Christian baptism lay clearly at the feet of Jesus. However Jesus said, ‘John gave you baptism with water, but I will Baptize you with the Holy Spirit’. Obviously a paradox exist here. Why did God’s voice speak from the  heavens and say , ‘This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased . Listen to him’. Who was there to listen and hear? Jesus had not yet chosen his apostles. So who heard that it might be recorded later? I suspect no one.  I believe it was absolutely a ‘trumped up’ idea inserted into Bible centuries later to satisfy the figment of someone’s imagination. If the Jews had heard it, they would have been compelled to, obey—direct orders from God?—who would dare ignore?

No, rather I think Jesus spoke truly about the Holy Spirit. He tried desperately for three years to educate his ‘thick- headed apostles and others—we have absolutely no way of knowing whether or not he was successful—so corrupted is the Bible. Jesus saw plainly that the Spirit of God (the life giving principle of all,  God’s love of all, God’s acceptance of all,  God’s Holy Will) resided in all. God did not reside  ‘over there’ and his creation reside ‘over here’—they were one an the same. Jesus told his apostles, ‘The Kingdom Of God is spread out all over the earth around you and you don’t see it’.

IMG_1065If we are ever to have peace on this earth, each of us must come out of our ‘badger like’ cocoons, humbly accept that the Spirit of God is in us all, and indeed in all of creation. Not one of us is worthy of God’s Kingdom—it is by his singular acceptance that he has  made us, and every grain of sand in the universe worthy.  With that understanding, we could finally have peace—not until.

My little book, Peace in Spirituality spells it out precisely. You must first read and understand Wilderness Cry before  you can understand  Peace in Spirituality.

For you locals, I will be signing copies of both books at The Good News Shoppe in Mayfield this coming Friday, Jan. 10, 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. Both books are readily available on line both hard-copy and e-books—of course, always available directly from me. Don’t miss out.

BAPTISM-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngBAPTISM: today I want to address the custom of Baptism and discuss its history. I would venture to guess that most Christians think of Baptism as a Christian rite originating with John the Baptist and Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan. Nothing, however, could be farther from the truth. A simple perusal of historical data will show that ancient Egyptians, Mesopotamians, and cultures of all sorts including Hindus and American Indians had some sort of ritual Baptism.

In the case of Christians, the practice undoubtedly came through the Jews from the Egyptians. The Egyptians believed that baptism in the waters of the Nile River afforded them an immersion into god in the next life. You will recall that the Jews were enslaved by the Egyptians for 400 years. It is very likely that during that period, the Jews adopted some of their captors’ ways—baptism was one of them.

So when the New Testament says matter of factly that John was baptizing in the Jordan, it was understood by the writer that his readers would know what he was IMG_1065referring to—it was a common practice.

When Jesus came along and was baptized by John, the developing Christian church established the process as a sacrament. Moreover, the church declared it an absolute requirement for admission into heaven—un-baptized people could not enter heaven; they went to a place called limbo—a place of natural happiness but not supernatural, perfect happiness. When I was catechized in Roman Catholicism, baptism was to be done expeditiously—doctors, nurses and all people were instructed in the simple process of pouring on the water and saying the baptismal words in case of emergency or risk of death. In any event, baptism as a formal ceremony, done by a priest seldom went 7-10 days post-partum.

As I attend Sunday Mass, baptisms are frequent, and many are done during the Mass ceremony itself—others done after Mass. It seems obvious that most of those babies are several weeks(months) old. I wonder why the change in sense of urgency. The ceremony used to be done in private—now with great hoopla. Anyone have any ideas? Has limbo been swept under the carpet? I haven’t heard the word mentioned from the pulpit in sixty years.

The truth of the matter is this; baptism has absolutely nothing to do with our salvation—that has been guaranteed by the death of Jesus. My two books, Wilderness Cry and Peace in Spirituality elucidate all. By defining the essence of God, I am able to address every human condition relating to God and salvation. Press Release and video trailers for these books included.

JUSTICE-Wilderness Cry-Hilary L. Hunt M.D.

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngPERFECT (7)–Continuing our discussion about God’s Perfection, I want to address a concept that  is at the very root of the misconception and confusion exhibited by the Abrahamic religions, and that concept is justice. You will recall that early on in their history, the Israelites developed a philosophy of justice–an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Consequently, as they recognized a singular God, they fashioned that god after their own  image and demeanor—their God was human-like in appearance; he was capable of loving you, but more importantly, he was vengeful and demanded retribution for any breach of his laws (justice). In their eyes, that retribution must be in the form of sacrifice, which must be of nature and quantity equal to the breech (crime)—an eye for an eye, etc. Then and only then could their God be appeased. However, not every ‘Tom, Dick, and Harry could offer that  sacrifice. Moreover, that sacrificial offering must not only be of sufficient quantity; it must be of  perfect quality—enter the High Priest.

Since the offering must be of sufficient quantity and of perfect quality, only the High Pries was considered capable of not only offering the sacrifice but providing the perfect specimens—enter the money changers. The poor peasants were obligated to pay the High Priest an extortionist’s price for his perfect offering made in their behest—the High Priest got richer; the peasants got poorer. Does anyone besides me see a corollary to what goes down in some religious circles today?

Now lets examine the real God–-the God of Perfect Love. Perfect love you will recall is ‘acceptance without conditions’. With that understanding, there is ‘no room’ for justice in God’s world. Like probably most of you, I am accustomed to hearing ad nauseum about our ‘eternal just God’. Consider this, if God were Perfect Justice, no human to ever live could possibly be saved. But no, God is not ‘just’ at all; he is all love—enter Jesus.

IMG_1065I am convinced that Jesus was the most brilliant human to ever live. In spite of being illiterate, He recognized many important clues about God. He saw that everything in this universe was evil by virtue of its  selfishness.  Without any scientific knowledge at all, to say nothing of ‘particle physics’, Jesus reasoned that the  spirit of God was in everything. Yet everything was made perfect, and maintained perfect by a Perfect God.

God made an entire universe(s) of evil—it had to be that way in order to function. Much more importantly, it had to be that way for a much, much greater cause—God must  show (be)  Perfect Love.   Jesus recognized that his spirit (soul) and the spirit of everything in existence were mirroring their creator. Knowing that God’s perfect love must be displayed through acceptance of  an entire universe of evil which God, himself created placed Jesus in a very ‘uncomfortable’ position—he, himself must be the sacrificial lamb—what a terrifying thought.

Jesus knew that the ‘good news-gospel’ must be spread all over the world. Time was short—death by crucifixion was reserved for all acts of treason and his such death was certain; he was teaching hearsay which was considered treason—but, he had no choice. He did the best he could—he surrounded himself with twelve illiterates and attempted to inculcate them with his ‘new’ philosophy about God—maybe in eternity we’ll learn if he succeeded—we certainly cannot tell from the corrupted and misinterpreted literature we have now. Nonetheless, he kept on the fringes of society trying not to awaken the ire of the authorities. After three years or so, and seeing the authorities closing in, he made a bee-line for the temple, overturned the money changers tables and called them hypocrites, as indeed they were. The rest is history.

By that ‘singular act’, God’s justice was rendered unto himself— he became, as he always had been, Perfect Love.  That one act of humility by Jesus exonerated us and all creation from any possibility of ‘retribution’ by an all Perfect, all Loving God. Paul’s letters are repleat with that teaching.

Do you think, as I do, that our ‘legal system’ needs attention?

Again, if you would like complete elucidation of these and literally all considerations of our relationship with God, Please read my two books, Wilderness Cry, and Peace in Spirituality.

Perfect-Wilderness Cry-Hilary L. Hunt M.D.

r_P70491TA200411_cr_22441_FullPERFECT (5)-as stated before, God created all of the tiny energy particles which he has allowed to develop into a %100 evil universe by virtue of its selfishness. And you may ask in amazement and/or wonderment how or if that can possibly be. Selfishness, you may recall, is anything directed at self. Since we all have been imbued with the notion that selfishness is equilibrated with sin, we may easily overlook the fact that every living thing has many  needs directed at self in order to survive. What society and or religion has dubbed  sin equilibrates to extreme degrees of selfishness. Therein lies the eternal  trap of  judging your neighbor—“he doesn’t need that big house”; “just look at that $1000 dress she’s wearing. She thinks she is big stuff”.—and so on. Just where is the line between absolute basic needs and extreme selfishness. I submit to you that it is a matter of personal interpretation which in itself is a consequence of personality development. Just as no two gross physical entities are identical, neither are any two personalities—similar, yes; identical, no. All physical entities are built of the same identical quanta of energy. Similarly, all personalities are built out of each and every experience our being encounters. They begin with our basic genetic make-up and end at death. In between they are undergoing the gradual evolutionary process of change just as is the entire universe. Therefore, it is philosophically impossible for any two individuals to make the identical interpretation of any occurrence—similar, yes; identical, no. God knows that—he made it to be that way for a very specific reason—Love.

So here we have an entire universe of evil (selfish) things and people all of which a Perfect God has allowed to develop—why; how can that be. Believe it or not the answer to that seeming paradoxical question is rather simple. It has to do with two concepts—Eternity and God’s Perfect Love. We will discuss Eternity and its ramifications today.

How would you define eternity? I would define it very simply—Eternity is a state of being without change. We live in a physical world wherein change is constant and unrelenting. Since we have need of living in harmony with that change, we have seen need to measure that change in increments we can interpret and understand. Those increments of measured change we call time. Time is a measure of change. Since there is no time in eternity, change is impossible—many, many implications. God is Perfect and thereby incapable of change—therefore he exists in eternity. The Catholic Church and its near mimickers teach of Purgatory, a state of being where a soul is tormented for a period of time in order to remove the stain of sin before entering Heaven. Do you, as I do, see the irrationality in that concept? Clearly, it violates two concepts of eternity— both time and change.

Many religious people speak and teach about heaven. They routinely describe it as a place  of eternal bliss where everyone blessed to be there will be running around greeting uncle Joe and Aunt Lilly, gleefully hugging, kissing them and catching up on old times. All of this will be occurring in God’s presence, but more importantly, some will be closer to God (a higher place in heaven) than others. Number one, does that sound selfish to you—it does to me. Number two, would it really matter?—is it possible to be more happy than perfectly happy?—I don’t think so. All of that sounds like mythological garbage to me. Number three, all of that motion and exchange definitely violates concepts of eternity. I believe there is a reality, and it is to be found in God’s Perfect Love.

Quite obviously, when we die, sooner or later we will be reduced to the basic building blocks from whence we came. Those building blocks (quanta) persist in God eternally. Will they have a specific recognizance, separate and distinct from all other entities? I do not know—only God knows that—I hope so.

There— you have two of the three great virtues of which the apostle Paul speaks—Faith that there is a God and Hope that we will persist in that God Eternally.

In my book, Wilderness Cry I show how everything in this universe is selfish. All living things have needs of nutrition and space. All inanimate things have needs of space and motion and are constantly attempting to displace each other for self accommodation. In my next installment, I will discuss God’s Perfect Love—enter Jesus.

In the meantime, I will continue to insert Covenant Books Press Release and Video trailer for Wilderness Cry and eagerly look forward to the day when both are available for Peace in Spirituality.

Persecution-Wilderness Cry-Hilary L. Hunt M.D.

r_P70491TA200411_cr_22441_FullDoes the word persecution bring chills of terror to your being?—it does mine. Have/are you guilty of persecution—I have been unwittingly—hopefully not now. It has frequently been said that with age comes wisdom which, in itself, comes from education, observation, soul-searching and inner honesty. As we mature in life many of us ask questions about old habits of thought, feelings and activities—wisdom allows us to answer those questions correctly thereby reducing and/or eliminating the persecutory attitude we have demonstrate for years. Most people nowadays are familiar with all sorts of religious, political and racial persecution both from the beginning of recorded history up until today. If you ask the average person on the street who professes a religion if he/she persecutes, I would venture to say a strong denial would be the response. However, if one engages that person in a conversation regarding religious beliefs and foundations, almost instinctively a confrontational presence will appear—even more-so with political discussions—less so now with racial discussions. Why do you suppose that is? I think it is a hold-over from remote modern times when overt IMG_0082persecutions by the majority in control were the norm—hence the discovery and settlement of the United States Of America. But even that attempt at escaping persecution in a “perfectly free” nation didn’t stem the tide completely. Various Protestant and Catholic factions viewed each other with a disdainful jaundiced eye–they still do but usually with rather smug attitude of acceptance. However not a single one is willing to give the other full quarter. Isn’t that perpetual attitude a form of civil, mental and emotional ill-treatment?—I think so. Way too often, churches have convinced their believers that theirs is the only true path to God; that they are the only ones with the correct set of understandings—every other church is wrong. Is it not an innate understanding then that your neighbor is not worthy of your total acceptance (love). If asked, could you give a good logical answer as to why there are 33,000 so-called Christian denominations in the world, and each proclaiming absolute authenticity?—I can. The reason is very simple; absolutely no one knows who or what God is. Oh, if you asked any one of them that seemingly simple question, you could expect an immediate rush of verbiage rattling off what God has done and is going to do, but not one single word about who God is. And here my friends is the cause of all the hostilities and resultant persecutions that have plagued mankind and the earth forever—no one before me has ever defined the essence of God. Without an essential definition, you simply do not know about what or whom you are speaking. It’s like attempting to talk in detail about an automobile without knowing what one is. So the simple fact is that people throughout the ages have concocted schemes of appeasing their god in hopes of greater prosperity. They even felt the necessity to defend their god against the onslaught of other’s gods—guess what; they still do. On the minimum but persistent scale they persecute and terrorize each other as described above. On a grander scale they fight to the death eternally—all in defense of their god whom they IMG_1065do not know. So,  how do we stop this endless persecution and terrorization? As I describe in my recently released book, Peace In Spirituality, there is only one, singular way. We must become likeminded. That means each person must have an identical understanding of the essence of God—that understanding can only come from an essential definition. That essential definition is as follows— God is a Perfect Rational Being. Six little words say it all—there can be no argument or disagreement. With that understanding, we can readily see how that Perfect Intellect Perceived all and that Perfect Will (The Holy Spirit) achieved and sustains all. Its Perfection denies a possibility of being pleased or hurt. Its Perfect Love denies any possibility of hell or torment in the afterlife—we are accepted in spite of our evil selfishness. You would do yourself well to read Wilderness Cry first and then read Peace in spirituality—you will understand all and will thereby be able to cease your persecution and terror. Both books published by Covenant Books and available world-wide both hard-copy and e-books.906242_Press Release for Wilderness Cry
