Harmony is a musical term based on the physics of sound waves that equal an exact fraction of the longest wave. It creates a pleasing tone to the ear. Harmony in the universe denotes an equilibrium of forces in perpetual fashion—always changing, but simultaneously adapting to maintain the harmonious state of being. Harmony among people should be and probably is the most longed for condition of all—yet seems impossible to attain. Have you ever seriously considered why that is? I have for decades and consequently have dived head-long into the philosophy of its understanding and more importantly a cure. My first book Wilderness Cry, published August 2016, explores and defines the causes of disharmony—universal selfishness and religion. I show how every gravid object in existence is afflicted with that same universal evil, selfishness. I show that even though everyone talks about God, absolutely no one before me has been able to define the essence of God. Therefore, none of those talkers have any realistic idea about that which they speak. Suffice it to say, then, that everyone’s God is different—God is just a figment of each persons imagination. The end result has always been endless fighting and disharmony about an unknown subject, God. I was, after years of deliberation, able clearly and irrefutably to define God’s essence with six simple little words—God is a perfect rational being. That definition says it all—nothing can be added—nothing can be deleted. That definition removes all mystery from our existence, and furthermore, makes harmony possible. The only real obstacle is our selfishness manifested in millions of ways but most notoriously by organized religions and ideologies which simply put are religions without a god. My definition of God’s essence obviates any and all needs for organized religion. However it demands the concept of spirituality—therein lies the seat of all harmony. In my second book, Peace in Spirituality, I revisit the basic causes of disharmony with their basic common generators, power, money and control. I offer a clear-cut pathway to total harmony. Covenant Books will be releasing it to the world-wide market very soon. Both are/will soon be available at all major on-line retailers al well as e-books. I strongly urge you to read Wilderness Cry in preparation for Peace in Spirituality. Harmony can, in fact, prevail.
Have you ever noticed that the very people who are PREACHING “God’s word, are the very same ones who wear fine suits, live in mansions and at the same time play on your sentiment as though they were Jesus themselves. These people are scallywags, bilkers of your sympathy and your money. They throw every fallacious concept of God and salvation at you humanly imaginable. They play on your ultimate “guilt trip” which they, themselves, implanted in you—why? So they could control you and more importantly your wallet and/or pocketbook. What did Jesus tell his disciples? Go into the world and tell everyone the gospel (good news)—take no, provisions—live off of what they offer you—if you are not accepted in a town, shake the dust off your sandals and move on. What was/is the good news? I, Jesus, have come into the world to die for you that all your stain of sin and guilt is removed—relax and be happy and thankful=—I represent your Creator. The preachers who scold and taunt you with selected biblical passages—passages which were installed into the Holy Word by scalawags who had a monetary bias, are the most devious of mankind. They sell their souls from minute to minute for monetary gain. Just do a little experiment—ask your preacher to live off what the parishioners offer him/her and see how long you have a preacher. I’ll guarantee you that in the vast majority of cases, your preacher won’t last a month. They are not deliverers of Jesus’ words—They are deliverers of money grabbing words. Why did Jesus overturn the money changers tables in the temple?—because they were making a mockery of God. Guess what?—they still are. Religion is the biggest “racket” the world has ever known. Prostitution may be the oldest occupation in the world, but organized religion far outstrips it monetarily—prostitution is illegal in most regions; organized RELIGION IS JUST LEGAL THIEVERY. Paul tells us that salvation is a pure gift from God through the death of Jesus. There is absolutely nothing we can do to enhance or detract from it. The least needed group of people in the world are the collective of preachers. Read my little book, Wilderness Cry-A Scientific and Philosophical Approach to Understanding God and the Universe, and you will have a clear understanding of who God is and who these scalawag preachers are. It is available Amazon, Kindle and all on-line book retailers and e-books.
The definition of the word ignorant reveals a perfect description of most people’s understanding of God and his functions. The word itself stems from the Latin, ignorantem, which means lack of wisdom or knowledge, unawareness etc. Since the beginning of recorded history, great thinkers have tried desperately to define the essence of God. The word essence, itself, has derivation in many languages, but basically means “to be”. In other words, essence is that quality of being that make something what it basically is. Accidents are those attributes that make something the specific one of its essential kind. For instance, I frequently use the example of tables; the essence of a table is its “tableness”, that being the singular quality that makes it a table. The accidents of a table, ’round, square, rectangular, four legged, three legged, five legged, wood, glass, wrought iron, etc.’ are those attributes that make it a specific table or a specific design. With that essential understanding, then, we see how important it is to define God’s essence. Otherwise we do not know God—we are totally ignorant.
Great philosophers and theologians of all major religions throughout history, recognizing the simplistic understanding of God presented to us, have tried in futility to understand and define God’s essential nature—all failed miserably, and they failed for one simple but very essential reason—they knew no science. The word science comes from the root Latin scientia which means knowledge which of course is truth and truth is perfection. The only person to ever live who was able to define God’s essence was the genius, Jesus of Nazareth.
Jesus knew no physical science, but he surely understood philosophical science better than anyone who ever lived. He knew that in order for anything to be, it must be marked with God’s love, the Holy Ghost. He could see clearly how the Jews, while proclaiming a one true God, used that proclamation for their own political and monetary gain. They concocted a picture of God to their own liking. They designed a God who was a King sitting on a thrown, observing his creation, and hurling both good and evil at it and its inhabitants, seemingly on a whelm. They devised schemes of bargaining with their God and even went so far as to carry him around on their shoulders in a wooden box, The Arc Of The Covenant. Of course only certain ones of them were allowed to offer sacrifice to their God, and he charged a pretty penny for his offerings. He was the High Priest. As time went on, a temple was built around the Arc Of The Covenant which was placed in the Tabernacle—the High Priest was the only person allowed inside the Tabernacle to actually offer the sacrifice. Since each offering had to be perfect, The High Priest, himself, was the one to furnish them—presumably he charged penitents a fortune for those perfect offerings. Hence, the New testament story of Jesus overturning the money-changers table and thrashing them with a whip. Does anyone see the similarity between the High Priest and the Arc, and the Christian priest and the tabernacle?
In the Catholic Mass, at the offertory, the priest proclaims his intention to make a perfect offering to God. Seemingly, all of this ritual comes straight out of the Jewish playbook, and furthermore, it was allowed to come into play by Constantine at the first Council at Nicaea. He gave the bishops strict orders and leeway to fashion a religion of their choosing—and that they did. They were in total control with the official backing of the Roman Empire. I might interject here that I have been unable to determine exactly when the Catholic Mass became a sacrificial event. The first reference I can find stems from the year 600 AD.
The history of the unthinkable abuses which eventually led first to the Greek Schism and later on the Protestant Reformation is generally well known. Here we are today still shackled by the same ignorance as at least 4000 years ago. Christianity alone is fragmented into over 33,000 denominations, each claiming authenticity, and not one of them being based on an essential definition of an entity they claim so self-righteously to know.
One of the most famous theologians to tackle the subject was a German, Meister Eckhart. Joel Harrington describes in detail how Meister Eckhart struggled all his life to define God’s essence. He realized that the contemporary miniscule understanding of God was dreadfully insufficient. In his book Dangerous Mystic, Harrington describes with erudite clarity Eckhart’s struggles. Many of his assertions were directly heretical and were brought before the Inquisition, but he died before he could be convicted. I highly recommend Harrington’s book.
In my case, at an early age, being raised in a strict Roman Catholic family, I began to see discrepancies in what I was taught to believe and what I could observe. By age thirty or so, I became determined to discover the truth. It was indeed a 50 year struggle and endeavor—I knew all the questions, but the answers were elusive. I read, studied, reasoned, became frustrated like others before me. I was a busy, innovative, Orthopedic surgeon, married with five children—my life was very full, but I never relaxed in my quest for understanding. Finally, one day about ten years ago it hit me—the definition of God’s essence was clear as crystal. What allowed that clarity was my understand of Quantum Mechanics (particle physics). That understanding showed me that everything in this universe is made up of exactly the same tiniest particles of energy. Those particle have various names and functions but not one more or less is in existence now than 13.7 billion years ago, nor will there ever be a change in their number and function. Each is perfect in form and function. That recognition told me instantly that Jesus was correct. Each of those perfect particles could only be perfect by virtue of their creator being perfect and branding them with its perfect love, the Will of God, the Holy Spirit. I was instantly able and mandated to define the essence of God with all ease. Six simple English words say it all—God is A Perfect Rational Being.
That definition is all inclusive and irrefutable. Not one word can be added or detracted. It says it all. I then preceded to write my own philosophy book which I publishes almost three years ago, and Covenant Books republished and released in March of this year. Its title is WILDERNESS CRY-A Scientific and Philosophical Approach to Understanding God and the Universe. It is available at Amazon and all on-line retailers and e-books. In my book, I describe the entire process of getting to the essential definition. I wipe away all of the so-called mysteries in religion. With all ease I define and describe in clearest terms a vivid graphic picture of the Trinity, the Soul, Eternity, Heaven and many, many aspects of life. I show how organized religion of all regions of the world have created chaos on a continuing basis. I show that God’s Perfect Love precludes any possibility of Hell. In short, I removed all the ignorance about God and his creation.
Maybe the most important aspect of this knowledge is to debunk the idea that God is separate from his creation. God’s Spirit is the soul of every energy particle in existence. God is our soul, and we will never (cannot possibly) be separated from it. In nearly three years time, not a single word of blow-back from anyone—no rebuttal is possible. I have requested it repeatedly, but none is forthcoming—the reason is simple—none is possible. Oh I’m sure it rubs a lot of people the wrong way for various reason but that’s all they can say. Its understandable that most people don’t like being told how they have been duped all their lives, but that has nothing to do with truth.
I have written another book, Peace in Spirituality, which was recently released by Covenant Books. In expanding the essence of God, it explores and demonstrates the only way to permanent peace. Peace is possible but highly unlikely anytime soon for obvious reasons—money, control, power. Those three culprits are the result of the only evil in the world, universal selfishness. I highly recommend you read my books and expand your level of understanding. All comments welcomed.
Communion: how do you perceive the concept of communion? It is referred to in many different forums. One of the most common is reference to the Eucharist as Holy Communion—another is reference to the “communion of saints” in Christian creeds. We speak of communities which is a derivative word of communion, and so on. In general, the word refers to a commonality of one sort or another. That commonality may be referenced in many different ways. For instance, the communion of saints refers to a gathering in heaven of all who have been saved. Two to three years ago, I sent out an urgent call for the recognition and acceptance of The World-wide Communion of Spirituality. I recognized that concept as the absolute only pathway to peace on earth. So far, my plea seems to have been ignored—I haven’t had even the slightest “nibble” on my bait. Why do you suppose that is. Whilst, I know nothing for certain, I strongly suspect such a concept would “upset the applecart” severely. Accepting such a concept would mean a total end to organized religions of all kinds. There would be no need for millions of preachers spewing diverse opinions about an entity not one of them can define. There would be no need for the millions of ornate and expensive buildings constructed and maintained at an enormous cost under the guise of “pleasing God”. The religion industry would come to a screeching halt. People world-wide would not need to be demeaned from every pulpit all for the purpose of creating guilt leading to the gutting of their pocketbooks in atonement to God. They each would have a clear recognition that every tiny particle of energy of which everything in this universe is made is absolutely perfect in both form and function—that understanding demands the concept that each particle is branded with the Perfect Will (Holy Spirit) of its creator. AS such, it demands that we recognize and accept the fact that we and every grain of sand and every molecule of oxygen are inextricably bound in the common image of our Perfect Creator. Therefore we belong to the universal Communion of Spirituality. That Holy Spirit of God is pure love that resides in and keeps perfect everything. It is only through that recognition and acceptance by everyone that peace may be. Think on that concept and see how it stacks up with your jaundiced eye regarding our world-wide neighbors. If you have any doubts or concerns, you must read my little book Wilderness Cry, and my soon to be published book Peace in Spirituality. Both are published by Covenant books and are/will be available everywhere. They will give you absolute, irrefutable guidelines to understanding the essence of God and the essence of Spirituality.
God’s Love for each of us is immeasurable. You might question that since we see so many terrible commits world wide daily. If we understand that God has Perfect Love, then we must admit that it is impossible for God to have disdain for anyone he has allowed to be created. Perfect Love means “acceptance without conditions”. Please do not let anyone, preacher or otherwise tell you that you are evil in God’s eye. You may be evil in the eyes of the world but never to God—you are his child and he can do nothing but Love you as he does everything in creation. Jesus told us that in no uncertain terms—he never condemned anyone. The bible we have now has been so corrupted by those who didn’t want to hear Jesus’ message—they didn’t want an all loving God—they insisted on an Old Testament God, dreamed up by the Israelites, who was morose and vengeful. That God served their purpose exactly—it kept them in control of our lives. They killed Jesus for teaching otherwise—he was a traitor and a treasonists. So he got the treatment all traitors got—crucifixion. Jesus knew it was to be his fate, but he wanted to get his message out before he died. We have no clear-cut evidence that his illiterate apostles understood and accepted his teachings. We do know for a fact that the bibles we have now have been corrupted by individual zealots who have altered it to their liking over and over again—all for power, money and control. In the first place every bible in existence stemmed from a single copy made from many altered copies 200-300 after the original writing. Biblical scholars have shown conclusively that only % 30 of the writings we have now were actually written by the titled author. In addition, Jerome’s translation of the Greek into the Roman Vulgate was changed dramatically. He became a hermit of the utmost kind—he despised the female sex. He had four or five women with him but he made them dress as men and stay filthy dirty and deshelled. He scolded one of his women for weeping over the death of her child saying she should be glad—she would have more time to devote to prayer. In his translation to the Vulgate, each time a woman was referenced favorably, he changed it to a negative connotation—such was his disdain of female sex. The truth is, there were 10 commandments, but the only sins concerned the sex commandments. So each translator of the bible, has added his own slant so that now we have dozens of bibles with differing language subject to differing interpretations. All of that, of course, was designed to suit the imagination of the writer who had an “axe to grind” with the establishment. However, the end result was always the same—a different sect hammering out “power, money, control”. The net effect is we now have as of 2014, 33,000 so called Christian religions—and each one of them claiming the exclusive right for control of our souls. I would suggest to you, its more about controlling your “pocket book”. I’ll guarantee you one thing, if the money flow dried up, your soul could “go to hell”. Your preacher would vanish like a ghost in the night. The writer Paul is the only writer who echoes Jesus sentiments, but even he was terribly confused. He was told by the people he was persecuting that Jesus was coming right back—of course that was the Jew’s expectation—they thought the earth , paradise, and all was just for them—does it get any more selfish than that?—to hell with the other billions of people. It’s been nearly 2000 years and no second coming—I’m here to tell you, there never will be. Jesus’ “second coming” will be in the recognition by all that the spirit of God is imprinted on every particle of energy which makes up everything in this universe(s). When we come to that recognition, then we will feel and know the true love of a perfect God—God cannot possibly hate—he is Perfect Love. We are the haters—we are the ones trying to take advantage of each other—we are the ones looking at each other with glaring, jaundiced eyes—we are the ones who “lack love”.—our dear God is all love. For full elucidation of the above, please read Wilderness Cry—Covenant Book.
Spirit Of God: what does that designation mean to you? Have you ever used the term and if so how did you imagine its meaning? I strongly suspect that people worldwide of all religions and faiths have a vague individualistic idea which likely they could not clearly explain to another person. The reason I am allowed to say that is very clear. No one except me has defined the “essence of God (Allah, Yahweh. Brahma, Buddha, etc.). Without an essential definition, all mention of God and its attributes is jargonistic minutia.
Science has shown us clearly that everything in existence is made of identical tiniest particles of energy collectively known as quanta, but with specific individual group names such as photons, quarks, leptons, etc. Each individual in any group is identical to its counterparts—each is perfect in form and function. Furthermore, not one more or less is in existence now than 13.7 billion years ago. So what does that have to do with the Spirit of God?—everything. My definition of God’s essence as A Perfect Rational Being mandates a Perfect Intellect which envisioned each of these particles and a perfect Will (love, choice, spirit) which mandated their existence and keeps each perfect just as their Creator is perfect. So when we say Spirit of God (Holy Spirit), we are speaking of God’s Will (love, acceptance, choice). That Love of course permeates every grain of sand, tree leaf, snake, fox, cloud, sun, and yes human in existence. Since God’s Love (Spirit) is Perfect, there is absolutely no way we nor anything else could be rejected by it.
The Christian world just entered the season of Lent yesterday with Ash Wednesday. Historically and currently, that season typically has exhorted us to fast, abstain from meat, do extra penance, etc. in hopes of “APPEASING” God and hopefully securing our salvation. Of course, God being Perfect cannot possibly be appeased, pleased or hurt—that was the god of the Israelites, of some pagan gods, and yes, our Christian God. What a terrible misplacement, and misunderstanding of God’s essence. I will submit to you that Lent should be a time of extreme personal and communal rejoicing because Jesus, the brilliant carpenter frim Nazareth, recognized God’s presence (light) in everything. He went about vigorously attempting to educate some to that fact—I’m not convinced he succeeded with any of them. The only real indication that someone caught on is Paul’s letters. He seems to understand the concept reasonably well and preached it vigorously to any and all. Of course, both Jesus’ and Paul’s teachings were pure heresy to the Jews—both were killed for their treason. Jesus showed us that we are intricately connected to everything through the Spirit Of God—that was his gospel (good news) that he wanted preached to the entire world. God cannot possibly be separated from himself. However in the post-Nicaean era, religion took the stance that it was in control of God’s location, thoughts, and actions. Religion speaks of the Spirit of God, God’s Will, and Holy Spirit, but never has been able to tell us what or what those entities are nor where they reside.
So Lent should be a time of great celebration, of extreme happiness and joy for the glorious gift of Jesus who showed us the Christ (the light of the world). It is not a time of self diminution in the false belief that we can influence God’s mind (Will)—it is Perfect and Eternal and not subject to change.
For a complete understanding of these concepts, read Wilderness Cry and Peace in Spirituality (to be released in a few months).
The Kingdom Of God: how many thousand, maybe millions of times have we heard that expression—and what does it mean to you? I would suggest to you that likely it has a different meaning for each person alive, or who ever lived. I am allowed to say that because, definitely, each person has a different mental picture from any other. It’s sort of like Santa Clause to a four or five year old—each one has its own image. The reason for that malady is identical for each entity. No one has ever defined the “essence” of Santa—neither has anyone before me ever defined the “essence” of God. It goes without saying that, without an “essential definition”, no clear, identical picture is possible. Therein lies all the conflict our earth has experienced since the beginning of recorded history. The earth has been in perpetual conflict and discord over one concept, God and its Kingdom. Millions of people have been killed, with many as sacrificial offerings to that God.
906242_Press Release for Wilderness Cry The obvious question is why are we and have we been fighting over the same idea. The obvious answer is, we are not. What we are, and have been, doing forever is fighting over an un-described and indescribable idea which has been named variously from Zeus to Allah to God, etc. If there had ever been an “essential definition” applied to that deity entity, then there would be no room for opinions, only truthful recognition, and, therefore, no discord nor lack of understanding. We would all be like-minded. Why have we not and still are not fighting over the concept that 2+2=4. Simply because it is a mathematical truth which not even the most simple minded can deny—we have like-mindedness, and therefore peace over that matter. Now back to the subject of God and its Kingdom—we must define the “essence” of God so we may be like-minded about it and be at peace. That “essential definition” is as follows: God is a Perfect Rational Being— six simple words that say it all—no misunderstandings nor misgivings. That picture of essence removes all doubt about who/what God is, and more importantly what and where its Kingdom is. Science has shown us that everything in existence is made of identical particles of energy with different names, collectively known as quanta. We know that each if its kind is perfect in form and function. We also know that not a single one more nor less exists now that has not existed since the moment of the Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago. Each of those tinniest particles of energy continue to do in perfect fashion exactly what it was designed to do—the result is a constantly changing universe(s) which we call evolution. God with its Perfect Intellect decided to transform its invisible perfection into visible perfection for the world to see, recognize, respect, honor and be thankful for. So the Kingdom Of God is the Universe(s)—God’s Perfection is in all things and all things are in its Perfection. I should note here that because of the Patristic society which has prevailed for millennia, God has been given a gender designation of He/Him. Of course, God has no gender–it is not capable of breeding and producing other gods. Even if it were capable, what or with whom would it mate? So, it sounds crude to use the pronoun “it” to describe God, but it is mandatory.
All the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Islam, Christianity) have categorically separated their God from its creation. Likewise, they all have presumed a hostile, vengeful God who seemingly is looking for any chance possible to torture and torment us both in this life and hereafter. All of that ideology was/is based on their ignorance of the science of the universe in which they lived, and their minuscule interpretation of events in their lives. Considering the definition of God as Perfect in all respects mandates God’s Perfect Love—perfect love is acceptance without conditions. Therefore, it is impossible for God to do anything except “accept” us with open arms no mater what we do or don’t do. That was Jesus’ only message—Love of God and Love of neighbor. Jesus understood fully that God was in all and that all was/is in God. He was the messenger, the Messiah, the Christ, who gave us the “Good News”(gospel) about God’s love for us and everything in existence. He knew he would be considered a treasonist and would be crucified for his teachings. Therefore, he spent three years in the shadows and on the fringes attempting to spread his message to and through his apostles—I don’t believe any one of them fully grasped what he was saying. However, because the written word has been so distorted from that time on, we really don’t know whether they did or not. Certainly, organized religion does not. When the apostles asked Jesus when was he going to restore the kingdom, he responded that “the Kingdom of God has already come; it is spread out all over the world around you and you do not see it” (paraphrased). We, along with every tree leaf, every grain of sand, every star, every bacterium, every molecule of oxygen we breath, and every entity in existence, are The Kingdom Of God. God is Perfect—therefore its creation is perfect. Is it possible for God to reject its own Perfection? I think not. When we, if ever, become like-minded about the “essence of God”, peace will prevail—and not until. My book , Wilderness Cry, and my just released book, Peace in Spirituality, spell it out precisely and concisely in irrefutable terms. Watch the attached video trailer created by Covenant Books for Wilderness Cry.
JOY: a beautiful word with a glorious meaning—what does it mean to you? I would imagine that ten people might give ten different answers and the reason for that is clear. Literally all of us have been raised in an atmosphere of guilt—we all are bad and deserve punishment. Consequently, each of us has a basic morose subconscious attitude. that attitude manifests itself in every aspect of our existence. Because of our guilt, we cannot possibly be happy—oh, we try, but usually fail miserably. Nobody’s hair looks right; look at that dress, she thinks she’s hot stuff; boy, I told him off today; and on and on.
Lets try a different approach and see what happens. How about trying to ignore the externals we observe and begin to see what’s inside—the face of Jesus. Did you ever hear Jesus talk about someone’s dress or hair or anything personal. No, but you did hear him repeatedly talk about each person’s inner beauty. He never incriminated anyone. Rather he forgave everyone. Jesus knew full well that each of us is different outside, but beautiful and perfect inside. Jesus recognized that his spirit, our spirit, and the spirit of everything in existence mirrors the the spirit (image) of its creator. Jesus saw the absolute beauty in everyone and everything. He told his thick-headed apostles that the kingdom of God is spread out all over the earth about them, but they didn’t see it.
Once we begin to see the face and spirit of Jesus in everyone, true Joy is ours, because we are seeing the face of God. Let us all try to change our attitude and become joyous in the glory of our neighbor who is God. My book , Wilderness Cry, explains all.
GUILT: now doesn’t that word run chill down your spine? How many thousands (millions) of times have you experienced it and why? Very likely, from the day of your earliest recognizance until this very moment, you have been constantly reprimanded and/or reminded of how in some way or another you are bad. Literally all of us have been instilled with that basic attitude. Why? It all goes back to the superstitious interpretation of how our God feels about us. Anytime we crook our little finger the wrong way God frowns and prescribes punishment. Very early on in civilization, those who chose to establish themselves as leaders, discovered that exact ideation as being a very useful tool in controlling the masses. Those who had “direct access” to God and could deliver his exact messages to the populace found that tactic to be fool-proof. Guess what, it’s still that way today. Basically every preacher in the world is controlling you and extracting your hard earned money from your pockets with continual threats of damnation in hellfire as the result of your unresolved guilt. They paint you a picture of a vengeful God who treats you and thinks of you as unwanted children who are dragging him down—he would readily eliminate you from his sight forever—all he needs is the tiniest excuse. So, you live in perpetual anxiety and fear, knowing full-well that you have stirred God’s ire irreparably.
Now lets step back, take a deep breath, and make a rational analysis of the situation. Presuming God to be real, we can and should make the following observations: 1-God is Perfect which means he is Perfect Love. 2-Perfect love means God cannot possibly do or cause to be done any harm to anyone; neither can he be pleased nor displeased. 3- No Perfect good God could possibly allow a tiny baby to come into an existence where it is immediately put on trial for the “sins” of some mythical characters who supposedly lived thousands of years ago. 4-God could only create that which represents his mirror image, which in fact is every tiny particle (quantum) of energy in the universe. Having created it in his “image and likeness”, it is not possible for God to reject himself (you). You are created in the image and likeness of your creator. Yes, we all are selfish—God made us that way so his universe could function in real time. Selfishness demands need; need demands change; change is measured in units of time. If there were no selfishness, there would be no need. If there were no need there would be no change, and if there were no change, there would be no time—only eternity. The universe would be frozen in eternity. But that was not God’s plan. He planned a universe of selfishness, so he, himself, could die in atonement in the person of Jesus,. That death fulfilled two essential tasks: God became Perfect Love and we became %100 cleared of our selfishness. So relax, take a deep breath and see the beauty of God in your neighbor. Once you can see that beauty, you then can see your own beauty—your guilt will be abolished forever.
If you wish further elucidation of these points, my first book, Wilderness Cry, is just now being released worldwide by Covenant Books. It describes in detail all these concepts and many, many more. Its sequel, Peace in Spirituality has just been submitted for publication. Hopefully it will be available in a few months.
As always, I welcome any and all discussion and/or comments.
Fancy Farm—isn’t that a quaint name for a town. Allow me to tell you about it. When first settled in 1829, by eleven Roman Catholic families, it was the first Catholic community with the first Catholic church in Jackson Purchase area of west Kentucky. Buried deep in the bible belt it has endured all sorts of adversity but has emerged as one of the most famous “little towns” on earth. It is in the Guinness book of world records for hosting the longest ongoing, largest, one day, outdoor Bar-B-Q picnic in the world—138 years. It annually serves 19-20 thousand pounds of Bar-B-Q mutton and pork. It hosts the political kick-off for the state of Kentucky on the first Saturday of August each year for at least 60 years with TV coverage by C Span, KET, and all local stations. On presidential years, CNN usually offers coverage. It remained %100 Catholic for about 150 years—community population now is roughly %90 Catholic.
In 1935 when I was 2 years old, our local priest persuaded my mother Anna Vatra Courtney Hunt to compile a comprehensive history of Fancy farm which she completed in 1943. She is the official historian of Fancy Farm through that date. Her history was published as part of a 4-volume set compiles by Fredrick Wallis and others titled A Sesqui-Centennial History Of Kentucky. It was in our school library. She traced the beginnings with Lord Baltimore, Cecil Calvert and many other Catholics sailing from England on the Arc and Dove to escape persecution. They landed at where is now Baltimore, MD. Almost all the Catholics in Fancy Farm are direct descendants of those migrants. After years of establishing themselves in Maryland, when Kentucky became a state in 1792, many of those families signed a pact to cross the mountains an risk traveling to Ky. They crossed the mountains in covered wagons to where is now Pittsburgh. From there they floated down the Ohio river on flat-boats and landed at what is now Maysville, Ky. They traveled inland to what was known as Pottinger’s Creek and established the first Catholic church in Ky. After Issac Shelby, the first governor of Ky, and Andrew Jackson negotiated the purchase of Chickasaw land (known as Jackson’s Purchase), and that land was added to the state of Ky, the Federal government opened it up for sale at twelve and a half cents per acre as land grant property. Eleven families including three of my great, great grandparents were the first settlers. They built Saint Jerome Church—it has been rebuilt three times and remodeled several, but is a huge, beautiful Gothic-style structure—the largest thing in town.
As a child, I attended the church-run school, Saint Jerome School for twelve years. We were required to attend mass each morning and our first class was Catholic Catechism. We were taught by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Ky. They were all well educated, great teachers, and strict disciplinarians. Even though the school was church owned and operated, the state paid the teachers salaries. Eventually, all the county schools consolidated (1980s). and the church went out of the education business.
As valedictorian of my senior class, I was awarded a scholarship to Saint Edwards University, Austin, Tx. My Pre-med advisor and biology professor was a Brother Raphael Wilson of “Bubble Boy” fame. After graduating Medical school and completing post graduate training in Orthopedic Surgery, I completed my private practice years in West Ky—Mayfield and Paducah. I am 85 years old now and have been retired several years.
Many times I have been requested, even demanded to wright a book about life in fancy farm, Ky. I usually discounted it, because writing books can be trying as my previous experience with Wilderness Cry attests. However, in recent years, as I see everyone my age go to the grave, I became keenly aware that history died with them—there was no one to ask. So I sat down an obliged them with Growing Up In Fancy Farm Kentucky. It is educational, historic, nostalgic, and humerus. It is not published to the world-wide market because it would be mainly of interest to locals. However, I have been shocked at the number of people who are from Fancy Farm who, coming out of the wood-work like termites from all over this country, are clamoring for my little book—daily trips to the PO mailing books. If anyone has an interest, just email me, email@example.com, and I will mail it to you—$10 plus $3 postage.
As a side note, Covenant books will be distributing Wilderness Cry world-wide shortly. Assuming their efforts are worthwhile, I will be releasing its sequel, Peace in Spirituality, soon.
Remember, the only way the world can have peace is through the recognition and acceptance of the like-minded idea that the Spirit of God is stamped on everything in existence. Can God be at war with himself? My call for the World-Wide Communion of Spirituality continues incessantly.
