PALM SUNDAY- Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngPALM SUNDAY-Today, world-wide, Christians are celebrating  Palm Sunday.  It is the day which marks Jesus’ heroic and triumphant enter into Jerusalem. It is known as Palm Sunday because the citizens attending the event cut palm branches and spread them on the path before him. Have you ever wondered why they did that?–I have. Also I have wondered just who all those people were. In addition, I have chucklingly thought what today might have been called if Jesus had approached the temple in Paducah, Kentucky in July—Maple Sunday, Oak Sunday, Ash Sunday, Willow or Birch Sunday? I’m not wise-cracking—I’m serious.

The Catholic Christians do, in fact, make a big to-do about the palm. They march in a procession of sorts with palm branches over their shoulders. The palm is then taken home and the artistic ones among us  weave all sorts of crosses and Christian emblems out of it before it dries, Other less fanciful may simply double it on itself and stick it behind a crucifix or holy picture hanging on the wall. The left over palm is saved and burned to ashes which are applied to penitents foreheads the following Ash Wednesday. The point is, the palm is revered as having some special significance.

IMG_0082I suppose the question remains why was the palm spread on the ground in the first place and secondly, why were there so many people in attendance. In the first instance, it is likely that the dirt road was muddy, and the palm provided a clean, dry pathway. Jesus, you will recall was riding an ass and would not been concerned with muddy roads. His apostles and close followers, however, were walking and most likely would have greatly appreciated the cover. Now to the second consideration—why so many cheering people? Jesus spent his entire teaching career in the shadows, out of the limelight so as not to rattle the ire of the king, high priest and elders.

It seems likely to me that there were two sets of people in attendance that day—one set were Jesus’ true followers—the others were those who sensed a ‘big showdown’ and didn’t want to miss the show. Jesus, himself, was steady as a rock—he was on a mission.

When time for the show arrived, the crowd was ready. Jesus had influenced many followers, but it seems obvious to me that most of them, including his apostles did not comprehend his message—they scattered like sheep running in terror from a wolf—seems to me like they still are. The bulk of the Jews present knew Jesus was teaching heresy and were quite willing to sentence him to crucifixion—the death mode reserved for treason. His friends were terrified—only one of them attended his crucifixion.

IMG_1065I spoke of Jesus’ heroic and triumphant entry into Jerusalem. It was certainly heroic because Jesus, undoubtedly, had witnessed many crucifixions—he understood what a horrific death it was, but he also knew why his mission was so important and necessary—-the salvation of the entire universe(s) lay before him. It was indeed triumphant, because he had overcome his fear—he was now steadfast and ready for what lay ahead. His apostles seemed not to have a clue—to them it was just another stroll in the park up until the last minute.

So now that Covid-19 has put a damper on most of the ecclesiastical blame-game, penitents can be a little more detached from the distraction of all the ritual and be a little more attached to the real meaning of Palm Sunday.

Yes, we all are selfish sinners—yes, so is every existence. Yes, genius Jesus saw that. He knew that our God and mirror image had allowed us and all creation to be that way for one very specific reason—so he could be and show his perfect love—-Jesus was his agent. Every other consideration in my estimation is not only superfluous but, rather, distracting from the real truth and understanding.

Thank you, Lord God, Jesus and Holy Ghost (will of God). Amen.

EVIL-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngEVIL- Just what is evil? I suspect if you asked a thousand people, most would reply that its something bad—many might say its something sinful. An astute few might reply its the opposite of good. So just what is it that makes something evil in our eyes. Genesis refers to the ‘tree of knowledge of good and evil’—what does that mean?

It seems to me that  evil was identified as anything distasteful or harmful to us as individuals and more generally to society at large. On the other hand  good was identified as anything enjoyable, tasteful, beneficial, pleasurable to us individually, and again more generally to society at large.

So what is the difference between evil and sin—both seem to carry the connotation of bad. I’m a little bit confused about the difference. Obviously, in the Garden of Eden, evil was equilibrated with sin—it displeased God. Not only that, it got Adam and Eve’s butts kicked right out of Paradise forever. And please don’t forget about that ‘talking snake’—she was doomed to crawl on the ground and eat dirt forever, Furthermore, its quite obvious, she also got her tongue split so she could no longer talk—-she could only hiss. That hiss, of course, is evil—-it says ‘I’ll bite you’. Curious too, that snake had been evil all along—remember its the one who tricked Eve into sinning by disobeying God.

Now just think about that for a moment. The Bible infers that all the animals were lovie-dovie with each other. Not only that but everything in Paradise was perfect— so how, why, and when did the snake become evil? What ever possessed the snake to ‘turn against God’?

IMG_0082Well, as far as I can determine, the Bible doesn’t tell us that. However I’m left to believe from all that story that God actually created both god and evil. Scream, tear your hair, shriek in horror, call me a heretic, a blasphemer, whatever—-how else can it be?

Here’s what I perceive. The Garden of Eden story is a fable dreamed up by some ‘well meaning’ person, ignorant of any scientific knowledge, who was attempting to understand what he observer in the real world around him at the time.

In previous communication, I have suggested the genesis of sin—it was Moses ‘last ditch’ effort at controlling his masses—sick God on them. Those commandments were God’s orders and any breech was sin. He, however, never attempted to explain how the snake became ‘infected’—-maybe he hoped no one would notice—somebody did.

Also, I have shown repeatedly how God made only one creation—the tiny energy particles of which everything in physical existence is made. God’s perfect intellect would certainly allow him to know and see clearly the consequences of those particle’s behavior—an entire universe of evil—selfishness.

Now you know God—he is Perfect—he knows everything—he has a reason (rationality) for everything. Well, what on earth could his reason be for making such a great big evil mess? Seems pretty clear to me–Jesus. God had to show his perfect love. The genius Jesus, our brother and mirror image of God was the instrument. He knew his relationship to God. He recognized his responsibility—he shouldered it dutifully. He demonstrated God’s perfect love that we and all creation may be reunited with our God some day.

So we have all sorts of breeches of Moses commandments and we have been instructed to call them sin, In reality, each one of those breeches are distasteful or hurtful in some way to us—-not to God.  If Moses interpretation of evil was equilibrated with sin, what about all the other evils that bring us torment—what about tornados, hurricanes, sand storms, earthquakes, floods, Covid-19? They are extremely hurtful and distasteful to us.  Is there a philosophical difference between  one person committing murder and nature committing billions of murders—-I don’t think so—its a matter of our perception. The infractions of the Ten Commandments are things society can address—-basically always have since Moses time. We can inflict punishing retribution legally—-that was/is our societal decision. Many of you may not be aware of the fact that Moses, himself, was a murderer—he never got punished for it—he hadn’t made the rules yet. In fact, he rose up to be leader of the Israelites.

IMG_1065So please take note—everything has a selfish (evil) existence and everything has a ‘once in a lifetime’ existence. Every living thing lives only once—every tornado, earthquake, hurricane etc. has only one existence—and each of those existences is very selfish—each is satisfying a God-given need.

So it seems clear that whoever wrote Genesis clearly failed to see the ‘other side of the coin’. God created only good (perfect particles of energy) but he allowed them to produce both good and evil that he might show his Perfect Love through Jesus.

As I have said many, many times before, our only justifiable prayer is a great big thank you Lord God, Jesus and Holy Ghost. Amen.

MIRACLE OR MYTH-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngMIRACLE or MYTH-Do you ‘believe’ in miracles—have you ever witnessed (experienced) one? If so, what do you believe took place with your miracle? Was your miracle a ‘physical’ event or, an emotional or spiritual experience? If you have experienced what you believe was a miracle, to what do you attribute it? These are all sincere and important questions when considering such matters.

During my eighty six years, I expect that I have heard that term  miracle or miraculous  used at least a million times. Most often it has been used to express delight at some occurrence or unexpected outcome. Some examples would be: ‘its a miracle she didn’t drown when her car went into ditch’, or ‘it is just miraculous how that skidding car missed little Johnny playin in the road.

More often than not, I have witnessed on social media hundreds of  people express certainty of a miraculous outcome for a rather trivial event. For instance, ‘I’m going to have a colonoscopy in the AM. Please pray that all will be well’ and then the inevitable pile-on effect—prayers, prayers, praying etc. Two hours after colonoscopy completed, ‘Great news, nothing serious. Bleeding was from a little hemorrhoid. God is soooo good’. Quite obviously, most would be happy with a relatively normal test result, but to attribute it to God’s partiality is too big a stretch for me. Lets assume for the moment that the colonoscopy showed an advanced cancer which oftentimes it does, would that mean that God is soooo bad, and to top it all off—all those prayers?

IMG_0082So just what are we talking about here? I think, without doubt, what we’re talking about is happiness at good news and sadness and fear from bad news—two perfectly normal human emotions. Also the prayers that everyone pours on are really expressions of love and support—if they are truly addressed to God with the expectation that God will intervene and ‘remove’ a large cancer before the endoscopist gets there is ludicrous and terribly selfish. Does that mean that God loves you more than someone else who may, in fact, have many more prayers being advanced? Unwittingly, that is the attitude readily and frequently advanced by many.

Before we fall off the deep end of reality about miracles, we must define what exactly we’re talking about. More importantly we must have a thorough understanding about what we’re asking and ‘expecting’ God to do. In fact, we ‘must’ know who this God is—seems like no one knows. Well, I’m here to tell you. my God is a Perfect Rational Being. That means simply that ‘physical miracles’ are an absolute impossibility. By a physical miracle, I mean a totally unnatural change in a ‘natural’ event. An example might be, someone born with crippling cerebral palsy suddenly becoming perfectly normal. In order for that to happen, major, major changes would have to occur in that person’s central nervous system, as well as in  his/her musculoskeletal system. It can’t happen. Let’s examine why.

If God is Perfect, and who can deny hat he is, change is impossible—something perfect is absolutely whole and complete—it can’t be improved upon nor be detracted from—it can be neither pleased nor displeased—neither helped nor hurt—it is perfect. So this Prefect God with his Prefect Intellect perceived his only creation—all of the perfect little particles of energy which make up everything in this universe. Those tiniest, indivisible particles are collectively known as Quanta (plural for quantum). There are several different denominations, but each of its kind is absolutely perfect in both form and function. Furthermore, each of its kind is indistinguishable from it counterparts. In addition there is not a single one more or less today than at the moment of their creation 13.7-8 billion years ago. Collectively, they are a mirror image of God, an image we call the Second Person of the Trinity. Because these particles are perfect and unchanging, they exist in eternity, as does God. When God views his creation, it views him in return and they viewing each other love what they see—that perpetual loving, choosing , willing, we call the Holy Spirit, the Will Of God. That Will of God is what keeps each particle perfect.

IMG_1065Strangely, every material object in existence is perpetually chancing in a very universally selfish universe. However, each object’s substrate (building blocks) are unchanging in eternity—-they are God.

So you see, physical miracles are impossible—God cannot possibly change his Perfect Nature. You do remember the Magi who were ‘astrologers’—they could interpret the stars—they could perform miracles—they were, in fact, magicians. They certainly exerted a lasting effect on the mentality and, I might add, the gullibility of the human race. They were smart alright—they knew well how to trick and fleece people. Guess what, they’re still doing it.

Over the last two hundred years or so, God’s light began to shine on the human race. Little by little, God came out of hiding and exposed himself through the likes of Galileo, Sir Isaac Newton, Einstein and many others. We now have a good ‘inkling’ into God’s basic nature, and that is Perfect Rationality. That Perfection cannot change.

Rather than being bedogged with what I consider foolish  ideas, content yourself with reality. You will find ultimate happiness by total resignation to God’s Will. Again you may ask, ‘just what is God’s Will’? And I say God’s Will is each and every occurrence of any kind since the beginning of time and continuing until there is no time. God will not and cannot alter the course of natural events. Each of us is a byproduct of each and every one of our lives’ experiences (seen and unseen) from and before the moment of our conception—we inherited much of what we are and we were built by the rest. Each of us has a certain physical destiny and that is death by one cause or another. More importantly, each of us has a certain eternal destiny  and that is eternal bliss with our God— expect no miracles—that’s miracle enough. Mythology is a trap.

PURGATORY-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngPURGATORY-Do you know what Purgatory is? Well, I suspect that if you, as I, were raised a Roman Catholic or one of it’s near mimickers, you would have a pretty clear understanding of Purgatory. You would know that it is a place, maybe near Hell, where the stain of one’s sins is burned away from your soul so you may eventually enter heaven. Apparently, that concept has been part of Christian philosophy and belief from its earliest days. In fact is seems to have been inherited from Jewish fundamental belief as stated in 2 Maccabees: ‘It is a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead’. That was in a period of time just before Jesus appearance and the Jewish theology had evolved to a point of believing that people would rise again into a new paradise. However those whom God had smitten to death because they returned to idolatry had to be forgiven before they could rise again. So, true to form, (the Jews never gave up ‘bargaining with God’), they prayed for god to forgive them so they could rise again.

The early Christians apparently extrapolated that Jewish philosophy to fit into their own ‘scheme of things’—and I use the term ‘scheme of things’ advisedly. You see, they didn’t know who God was—they had/have been bargaining with a phantom. Neither did they know nor recognize who Jesus was/is. They professed him to be ‘the Son of God, The Lamb of God, The Word Made Flesh, One With The Father and many more titles. But then they turn right around  and deny his divinity. I can see you now exclaiming ‘what did you just say?’ I said they directly contradict themselves—they admit that Jesus is one with the Father and that he died for our sins, but guess what; not even God dying for our sins is sufficient; not even God can forgive all; we must ‘burn’ before we are completely cleansed.

IMG_0082What I see in all of this rationalizing is the continued attempt (and I might add a successful attempt) to meld Judaism with Jesus—that is the Church which eventuated. But what did Jesus say? I recall him saying ‘I’ll give you two commandments. You shall love your God with your all and you shall love your neighbor as yourself’ (paraphrased). In fact, he seemed to despise rituals and religion. He said the love of God is personal and not based on hierarchies and buildings. He attempted to tell his biased comrades that God was in everything and that everything was/is in God—seemingly, they didn’t comprehend (we’ll never really know for sure whether or not they did, so distorted and corrupted is the written word we have).

What we do know is that the Jews and the formulated Christians who followed would have ‘no part’ of the idea that God was in everything—God was ‘up there’ and his creation was ‘down here’. On top of that he ‘lorded over’ it with an iron fist—he demanded retribution and justice—he really wasn’t very loving. Yet on the other hand we have the schizophrenic presentation of God, ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that we might live’ (paraphrased). There was no unified understanding  of or about Jesus. They could not (maybe did not want to) understand what Jesus kept telling—God is in everything and is everywhere—‘split a piece of wood and I am there; lift a rock and you’ll find me there’. He made one final desperate attempt at his last supper when he told them the the bread and wine they were eating and drinking was his body and blood (God is in all). He told them to remember him (that) each time they ate.

The Jewish Christians who finally formulated the Church could not possibly let go of the idea of a punitive God who demanded retribution and sacrifice—seems like they saw Jesus as a ‘snotty nosed kid’ whose britches just weren’t big enough to ‘fill the bill’ for us—that task was up to them. And so it has been for over sixteen hundred years—everyone but the absolute most pious must burn in purgatory for a variable time. However, the ‘administrators of God’s justice’ concocted the idea of indulgences—how clever. They assigned a specific period of sentence reduction to certain prayers. Some even went so far as to sell indulgences. That was a real neat idea. It served two purposes—the ‘rich’ gobbled them up like a pig eating slop, and that filled the depleted church coffers—you remember ‘it’s harder for a rich man to get to heaven than for a camel to go through a needle’s eye’.

IMG_1065Now lets get to the nitty-gritty. The Jews and early Christians were ignorant but they weren’t stupid They knew no science but they knew how to fleece and control each other—in fact they were experts—they could bargain with God down to the last penny. I recall Jesus ‘calling them out’ for it—they killed him. Maybe that’s  the reason Jesus has never gotten his ‘just due’ from religion. They didn’t know much—the earth was flat, and teetered on five crooked, wobbly legs (it was always in danger of falling into the netherworld below—everyone knew that). The sun, moon and stars controlled pretty much everything—so they thought. The religion they finally formulated (an extension of Judaism) put them in absolute control enforced by the Roman army.

Today, our ignorance ‘shines brightly’ because we now know enough factual material that we understand our monumental deficiency. However , we have been able to observe God’s perfection in ‘real time’ so to speak. In fact based on those obser4vations, I have been bold enough to actually define God’s essence. God is a Perfect Rational Being. That prefect rationality is seen everywhere in the field of Quantum Mechanics (particle physics)

You may ask what’s that got to do with anything, and I’d say everything. Just consider these points: 1-God is Perfect—his Perfect Love precludes any possibility of Hell—Jesus’ death was God’s method of exhibiting that Perfect Love. 2-God exists in eternity—a state of being without possibility of change (time). Time, of course, is a measure of change. God, being perfect, cannot possibly change. Therefore all of our begging and pleading for God to do so and so is senseless. God can be neither pleased nor displeased—being so would require a change. 3-Purgatory is stated to be a place of burning away the stain of sin for a variable period of time depending on how much stain one’s soul has. Of course, that takes place after we die (in eternity). So the idea of purgatory defies and contradicts two basic concepts of eternity–both time and change.

Purgatory, then, must be considered as just another mythical concept concocted to satisfy a need—money, power, control.

Strange too, like Limbo, I haven’t heard a sermon about Purgatory in years.

Come to think of it, I cant recall indulgences being mentioned for maybe forty to fifty years—I wonder why—maybe its the broom at work.

LIMBO-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngLIMBO-You know what limbo means—of course you do—you’ve probably used that word hundreds of times. It means hanging on the edge, awaiting a decision from someone else—unable to make a move or a decision until a certain question is resolved etc. But do you know what it means in religious terms?—I don’t recall hearing that term used from any pulpit in the Catholic Church for fifty years. But that was not always the case.

When I was a small child being lectured daily in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Limbo was a dramatically important consideration. It was a hand-wringing, gut-wrenching subject of major, major concern. It was so important that baptisms had to be performed on infants very soon after birth—usually one week. In fact, it was so important that even the slightest hint of a baby’s lack of viability at birth or immediately thereafter mandated immediate baptism by whomever was in attendance—no matter what. Years later, as both a medical student and practicing physician delivering babies, that mandated urgency  still prevailed. I, personally, don’t ever recall the perceived need to baptize any baby—as a senior medical student, I did in fact deliver fourteen babies in one night at Saint Louis City Hospital #1. Altogether, during my Medical School, post graduate training years and two years of private practice (Family Medicine), I’d estimate that I delivered 300-400 babies—none were in extremis or showed signs of unviability.

IMG_0082If you are not an older Catholic, or if you are non-catholic, you may not have a clue as to where I’m going with this. Where I’m going is this: the psychological trauma impaled on young children and perpetuated into adulthood was/is both scandalous and shameful. You see, an unbaptized infant who died had absolutely no possible chance of getting into heaven. In fact they were perched in a special place called Limbo right on the edge of Hell—the word limbo comes from ‘limbus’, meaning edge or precipice. Oh they were happy, but only ‘naturally’ happy—-they could never, ever enjoy the beatific vision because they still had the stain of Original Sin.Who in his right mind would want an innocent baby to be subjected to such denial? Do you now understand the hand-wringing, gut-wrenching urgency for baptism—I can still remember the anxiety I experienced just thinking of all the babies in the world who died without baptism—there had to be millions, because most people never even heard of Jesus and Baptism.

So where did the concept of Limbo come from in the first place? Well consider this, the same people who came up with the idea of Original Sin, concocted the idea that Baptism was absolutely necessary for admission into heaven. Those two ideas created an immediate dilemma—what were they going to do with all the babies dying unbaptized—they had to have a rational sounding ‘place’ for them—so they dreamed up Limbo. Augustine, Jerome and the likes were the ‘granddaddies’ of Limbo.

You might ask,’what difference does it make, and I’ll say ‘one hell of a difference’. I spent the first thirty five to forty years of my life worrying about such ‘nonsense’. It was years later that I learned that the concept of Limbo was not official dogma of the Catholic Church—each Bishop could teach it or not according to his whelms. It just so happens that the first Bishop of the Owensboro Dioceses under whom I was instructed was Bishop Cotton, An Opus Dei par excellence. He liked Limbo—he loved torture.

IMG_1065So what do we have now? I haven’t delivered a baby since 1967 and I don’t have a clue as to what Catholic nurses are being taught nowadays. What I do know is this. What, once upon a time, was a sober exercise, performed in private within about a week of birth, now has turned into a ‘gala affair’ performed 2-4 months post partum.

Also, not even a whisper of Limbo—I wonder why— I think I know. People are dropping away from religion like dead flies falling off the wall. All austerity must be eliminated. The hierarchy aren’t dumb—they can see what’s happening. They know that the younger set will never take the time and energy to research church history, and they sure as hell aren’t going to volunteer it to them—how many times have you heard a sermon  about the Inquisition, or of the selling of indulgences, or of all the bad (horrible) popes?—I’ve never heard a single one and I’m 86 years old. They know that soon enough all the ‘old heads’ who remember all that crap will soon enough be gone—so they keep ‘mum’—-they ‘sweep it under the carpet’—-it never happened. Its a ruse ‘older than God’.

Guess what—-we old heads are still  hanging in Limbo—likely, you are also and just don’t know it.

My two little books Wilderness Cry and Peace in Spirituality explain all. I am attaching Covenant Books’ Press release and video trailer for each. If you got questions, you’ll find the answers there.

HELL-FIRE AND DAMNATION-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngHELL-FIRE AND DAMNATION—how many times have you heard those predictions and where did those dire proclamations come from—well from your preacher, of course—where else? Could you have ‘guessed’ it on your own?—possibly, but not likely. It is very likely that no rational person, realizing that he/she had been born into a world, not of its chosing could ever imagine of such.  So where did such ideas come from? Well, we have to go to the bowels of religion to find that answer.  From the earliest days of recorded history, mankind has ‘imagined’ a ‘higher power’ who exerted control over their lives. Some saw that power in the wind, others in the water, some in the sun, others in the moon.

IMG_0082Sooner than later (fourteen thousand years ago), the astute Egyptians connected the dots between the stars and created the Zodiac (animals). They observed that each of its’ twelve characters gradually ‘rotated off the horizon. They even calculated the time for that rotational shift to be between eighteen hundred and twenty two hundred years—each such time period was known as an age. Likely we modern humans think of them as generic ignoramouses, but, in reality, they were brilliant—their calculation of near twenty six thousand years for the complete rotation of the Zodiac characters has stood the test of time—they were indeed pretty smart dudes.

Be that as it may, they also concocted schemes of a Higher Power(s) who exerted influences on their existences. They were so convinced of those Power’s influences that they became sacred and inviolable—later on the most affected were the Pharos who earned such a relationship as to become immortal—they escaped the throes of eternal punishment—total extermination with no possibility of immortality. Later on, that philosophy became the routine especially when Christianity hit the scene.

The Jews, who had been captive to the Egyptians for at least forty years, incorporated some Egyptian philosophy into their ‘Religion’—-they had Baptism, and the Jews liked that arrangement, not because it imparted eternal bliss but because it secured special favors from the gods. However, the Jews didn’t want to be bothered with three dozen gods—they were satisfied to bargain with ‘one God’—and bargain they did. I mean, before it was all over, they had God ‘down on his knees’—such was their bargaining power. They made God agree to every wish they could think of—problem was, they couldn’t trust God. Even though they carried God around on their shoulders, they really couldn’t trust him—he had to be appeased.

Their sacrifices went so far as to be ‘human’ in nature in some circles—young girls were the most favored—I wonder why. Mind you, the Jews didn’t offer such sacrifices, but their mimickers  did. The Jews discovered a ‘handsome’ benefit to offering sacrifice. They established a hierarchy of sorts and only the High Priest could ‘offer sacrifices’ of appeasement. This arrangement became vey financially beneficial for the hierarchy, especially the High Priest. Each offering had to be ‘perfect’, and only the High Priest could provide such ‘perfect offerings’.

IMG_1065The poor peasants would bring their ‘imperfect offerings’ and the High Priest would take them for little barter. In exchange, they had to pay the High Priest a ‘pretty penny’ for his ‘prefect offering’, whilst he literally ‘stole’ their hard earned offerings. Jesus took note of that—in addition, he took great exception to that practice. He became so irate as to overturn their money-changing tables and called them out as hypocrites—that, among other things, got him killed—-they hung him on a tree for all the world to see. Thank God for Jesus.

Now fast-forward  three hundred twenty five years or so. Jesus’ followers paid no heedence to his teachings—well so it seems. By the time Constantine became Emperor of Rome, Mithraism was the official state religion. That cultist practice, similar to Christianity  had sacraments, priests (Mithras), and sacrifice. People’s sins could be abolished by allowing the blood of a sacrificed bull spill onto them. They would stand under an elevated platform onto which a bull would be led. The Mithra would then stab the bull in the neck—the blood spilling through the cracks onto the penitents had a ‘cleansing ‘ effect. The Romans ‘loved’ Mithraism.

The Christians, however, who were under Roman domination and  were supposed to be producing for the empire—they had come under the influence of a Jesus religion loosely known as Christianity. The problem was that they were squabbling and even fighting among themselves about who Jesus was and what he ‘said and did’. Their differences were so great as to detract from their productivity for the Empire. Constantine, sizing up the situation, realized he would be better off making Christianity the new ‘State Religion’ rather than attempt to quell the tide of fighting Christians—after all they were the peasants supporting the empire. Accordingly, he called the first Council at Nicaea.

Of the Eighteen hundred or so ‘bishops’ (a bishop was the most influential man in his community) in the world, only two hundred or so attended. Constantine ‘Commissioned’ them to formulate a Christian religion to their liking—it would be the new State Religion enforced by the Roman Army—anyone who rejected the new religion would have two choices—exile to the wild animals or beheading.

The conclave haggling extensively, excommunicated some bishops and twisted the ears of others so forcibly as to make them holler ‘calf-rope’. Eventually, a consensus was reached and a new Human Christianity was adopted by the Holy Roman Empire—many, including me, would say ‘that was the downfall of humanity’—they were much more peaceful with many gods. However, history is history.

In spite of the fact that Jesus taught forgiveness and love, the Religion that eventuated incriminated everyone.  The newly created hierarchy were the sin police— they totally ignored Jesus’ and Paul’s teachings, but rather put themselves in the all powerful position of being ‘judge and jury’—eventually all hell broke out. Why?

As best can be determined, the reasons were twofold. First, Luther and others could see the terrible abuses of the Church. However, in stead of correcting those abuses, they created more. While Jesus saw himself as the “sacrificial lamb’ who died for all evil, the Jewish Christians who formulated the early church saw Jesus as some kind of abatement, but not complete— sacrifice was mandated—hence, some two hundred and seventy years or so later, we got ‘the sacrifice of the mass’. The renegades, however were not about to relinquish the role of the High Priest completely. The near mimickers of the Catholics maintained a sacrificial offering service. The so-called Evangelicals turned to a Tenth century translation of a book so contaminated as to be almost dangerous to touch for their ‘God’. And so now we have thirty three thousand versions of a god no one knows but everyone talks about—guess what—they all are money machines—-where in the hell  is Jesus now? we desperately need Jesus to overturn the money-changers tables.

Jesus and Paul told us that Love of God and neighbor is all that’s required. The preachers will tell you post-haste that hell can be avoided only by observing the precepts of their church. And the hierarchy live in splendor—they rub elbows with ‘famous people’; they’re on TV daily hob-knobbing with the ‘rich and famous’—what did Jesus say? I don’t recall him hob-knobbing ever with them—seems to me like he despised them. They all preach Hell-fire and Brimstone  to us and why? I think just like the  Jewish Kings and  High Priests—money, power, ,control.

Your God and my God is Perfect Love, just as Jesus and Paul asserted—-There is no Hell—-only God’s perfect accepting Love.

TRINITY GOD-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngTRINITY GOD-Most Likely, whether or not you are a so-called Christian, you have heard of Trinity God. More than likely, if you are Christian, you have used some version of that expression hundreds, maybe thousands of times. Most of us have been so inculcated with the term that we use it without even thinking about what we’re really saying—as a matter of fact, we can’t realistically think about what we’re saying—we’ve been told emphatically that its a mystery and is unintelligible to us mere mortals. In spite of that fact, priests and preachers alike world-wide spit out that term or those terms with such voracious rapidity as to make it seem like common everyday horse-sense knowledge. Everybody knows what the Trinity is—its the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, right? Oh yes, but just wait a minute……

Have you ever asked one of those preachers to explain the Trinity to you and if so, what response did you get. Most likely, a response like a fish wriggling off a shallow-set hook. They’ll respond—well, its God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. In modern times, they may use Holy Spirit instead of Holy Ghost—Ghost sounds too scary. Guess what, up until forty-fifty years ago, the word Ghost was the common usage. It was the word Jesus used—in a different language of course.

So, lets try a different angle to milk a meaningful answer  out of them—preacher, tell me who God the Father is. And forthrightly you’ll get a barrage of ‘God the Father is Creator of the world’. But who is God the Farther preacher? Well, I just told you. ‘he’s creator of the world. But preacher, tell me about just who this God is—what is its basic essence that gave her such ability? Hmm, essence?—not sure I can do that.

Well Preacher, who is God the Son? Oh, well, that’s easy; he is Jesus, God’s Son. Well how does God go about having a Son; I thought God was invisible so, how could he have a human son. Well, you know, God miraculously impregnated a virgin and Jesus was the product. Oh I see. Well tell about the Holy Ghost—where did it come from? I’m not sure I can explain that to you, but Jesus mentions him in the Bible. Oh, ok. Who wrote the Bible preacher? Oh, a bunch of people. Well if it were written by a ‘bunch of people’ how do we know its true? Because its the ‘inspired word of God. What do you mean by the ‘inspired word of God’ preacher? It means that, even though humans wrote, God was creating thoughts in their minds to keep them from making a mistake. So, Father, how do we know that? Because the Pope said so and the Pope is never wrong about such things,. Well how do we know the Pope is never wrong (infallible). Well that’s simple, he said so—he declared himself so. He declared a dogma that made himself infallible under certain circumstances, and the inerrancy of the bible is one of them. Oh, ok, I get it.

IMG_0082But what I don’t understand is why there are hundreds of versions of the Bible and no two of them say the same thing. At the same time, there have been/are billions of interpretations of what the Bible says. How come? If the Bible is inerrant and the ‘inspired’ word of God, how is it possible for God to stay completely mixed up and confused? Well, to tell you the truth, all those other folks are ‘dead-wrong’—mime/ours is the  only correct one. Really? How do you know that? Well, because that’s what ‘my church” believes. Oh, I see—just because you ‘believe it’ that makes it so? Well, in my mind it does.

Now I get the picture—we have billions of people over the ages ‘believing’ stuff which they imagine from one source or another and proclaiming it to be the authoritative ‘word of God’—a God they talk about incessantly, but one whose  essence they cannot define. They speak of mysteries and Ghosts and all sorts of things like miracles, and all the while ‘swearing and bedamning’ to be the only correct one. Furthermore, their certainty has been such as to justify perpetual torment and eternal wars among and between each other.  Who in hell is this God that they cannot define—what is this Trinity they cant define—I’ll tell you post-haste—not even in the field of Quantum Mechanics (particle physics) does the  principle of uncertainty  run that rampant.

The very first thing that must be done in order to have a clear picture of the Trinity is to define the  essence of God—something I have done, but never done before me.  It brings a graphic picture of the Trinity into clear focus.   God is a Perfect Rational Being.  So what does that mean? I’ll break it down word for word for you.

1-When we say God, it means we accept there is God, the absolute only ‘faith’ required. No one can neither prove nor disprove the existence of God, but my understanding of Quantum Mechanics make it very logical to accept a concept of God.

2-When we say is, we mean ever present; not yesterday, nor tomorrow.

3-When we say a,  we mean singular—none other.

4-When we say Perfect,  we mean complete, nothing missing—cannot be pleased nor displeased—cannot change nor be changed—exists in eternity.

5-When we say Rational  we mean an Intellect which perceives and a Will which achieves.

6-When we say  Being, we mean it exists.

IMG_1065Now that we have defined God’s essence, we are now free to explore its ‘accidents’—accidents are those features that make something the specific one of its kind. That brings us to the ‘second person’ of the Trinity. One may legitimately ask, ‘what would a prefect intellect reflect upon?’ The logical answer would be ‘something perfect’ if it existed. Since the only perfect thing in existence is God’s perfect intellect, he looks inward, and what does he see?—a perfect mirror image of himself. Of course, since everything in the supernatural is living, that image is living—the second person of the Trinity. Wait just one minute, you may say—‘I thought Jesus was the second person of Trinity?’. And I say all of God’s image (creation) is second person—Jesus was the representative of God’s entire reflective creation—he was the only one of us to understand that principle—he assumed the role of messiah for the entire universe. However, collectively the entire universe(s) is a reflection of God’s Perfection.

Now that we have defined God the Father and God the Son, what about the Holy Ghost. Well, believe it or not, that’s the easy part. Just consider this—what choice would two Perfect Intellects have when viewing each other—could they possibly ‘reject’ each other? No way—their only choice is to  love (accept, choose, will) each other. That perpetual Loving, Accepting, Choosing, Willing each other carries the image of its generators—It is the Holy Ghost—the Will of God— the Third Person of Trinity.

So there you have a perfectly clear image of the Trinity. That understanding carries many, many ramifications all of which are contrary to organized religion of any kind world-wide. If you would like to explore that understanding farther, please read my little books, Wilderness Cry first; then Peace in Spirituality. JESUS, OUR BROTHER-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngJESUS, OUR BROTHER– Somewhere in one of the hymns we sing at Catholic mass, Jesus is referred to as ‘our brother’. I have often wondered how Catholics in general consider that notation—or if they consider it at all. So many  hymns and prayers are oft repeated so as to become ritualistic—memorized and repeated without specific thought or attention to meaning. Its much more fun to be critiquing someone’s dress, or hair-do, or replaying the winning hole of golf  from yesterday’s game, than to be concentrating on the boring ritual of memorized prayer or song.

Also, somewhere in the Old Testament (I’m too lazy to look it up), one of our Sunday mass scripture readings states that ‘behold, a virgin shall give birth’ (paraphrased). That, of course, is  foretelling Jesus’ virgin conception and birth. It is specifically noteworthy that the New Testament writers repeatedly fashioned their stories about Jesus so that such and such happened ‘that the scripture might be fulfilled’. In other words, the dreamy ideas of the Old testament writers had to be brought to living fruition by the Jewish and Greek writers—truth was of no consideration. All of that is completely understandable when we realize that all of their ideas were based on astrology plus the declaration that they could talk directly with God and even bargain with him—at least, that’s what The Old Testament says. I don’t believe it and, in condensed form,  I’m about to tell you why.

IMG_0082Jesus is, in fact, our brother. He was made of identically the same particles of energy as you and I. And, as I have elucidated many times before, everything that ever existed in the physical world is made of identically the same energy. Those energy particles are perfect and unchanging just as God is perfect and unchanging—therefore they exist in eternity as does God—they, in fact, are God. I am allowed to say that because I have defined the essence of God—God is a Perfect Rational Being.

God’s Perfect Intellect designed those particles directly from his nature—with his Perfect Will (Love) he made and keeps them perfect. They all exist in eternity as God because of their perfection—yet all of their created objects, including us, exist in a perpetually changing physical world. So, without question, Jesus is brother to us, as well as, to every grain of sand in existence. Does that help you understand your soul?—your soul is God—you are temples of the Holy Spirit, just as Paul said.

The Holy Spirit is not a Paraclete (one who accompanies or walks beside you), the Holy Spirit is in you. No one can ‘impart’ the Holy Spirit upon you—it already does and always has, from the moment of your conception, resided in you—it is your soul, your life giving principle.

IMG_1065Now back to the ‘virgin birth’—from a rational standpoint, it is an impossibility—all so-called physical miracles are an impossibility. In order for a physical miracle to occur, God would have to change his nature—God is Perfect and incapable of changing anything. If he ‘changed’, he would slip out of eternity back into time—there is no time in eternity. Time is a measure of change—eternity is a state of being without change (time).

It is quite obvious to me that, based on the literature we have, no one knew nor understood who Jesus really was, nor what his real message was/is. My deduction tells me Jesus only message was love (acceptance). He asked us to accept God and each other, while he, as a mirror image of God, was accepting the entire universe of selfishness (evil).

Jesus, our brother, was our representative—he was the only entity of the entire  reflected image (second person of Trinity) of God to comprehend the presence of God in everything. He was the only entity to see and understand the universal evil of selfishness. He was the only entity to recognize that God’s Perfection demanded Perfect Love. He was the only entity to recognize that Perfect love must be demonstrated—otherwise it was meaningless. He was the only entity to recognize that since he, himself, was the only one to understand that principle, he was the Messiah—he had to pay the price—that, he did willingly.

Jesus was super-genius—Jesus is  our brother.

For complete elucidation of these principles, please read my two little books, Wilderness Cry and Peace in Spirituality—Press Releases and video trailers of each produced by Covenant Books attached.

WHAT IF JESUS—Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngWHAT IF JESUS…-Now that’s a peculiar introduction to a writing—don’t you think? I’ll agree, it seems so but I’ll you assure the purpose will become clear.

When I was a child into young adulthood, I was taught Catholic Catechism with the authenticity of arithmetic. Of course, the main theme of that teaching was about the Ten Commandments, the commandments of the Catholic Church and belatedly about Jesus. It seemed that most of the Jesus teachings centered on the Jews and what a terrible people they were. They were, in fact, the most despicable people ever to be imagined. All of that depravity heaped upon them stemmed from one thing—they killed Jesus.

The implication from my teaching was that Jesus was attempting to tell us about God by instructing his apostles for future spreading his words to the world whilst at the same time steering clear of the Jews. Somehow, Jesus knew that the Jews wouldn’t like what he was saying. After all, the Jews were the ‘chosen people’—God had made a pact with them to ‘never again abandon them’. So, where did Jesus get the right to come in and start teaching heresy— that was the sixty four thousand dollar question.

Jesus was telling people that God loved them, while the Jews were ‘afraid ‘of God—he would wreak all sorts of wrath upon them if they failed to hold up to their end of the bargain. Jesus could, in fact, see the extreme self-righteousness and selfishness of the Jewish hierarchy. He could see how the Jewish ‘commoner’ was really a slave in his own land. He taught us that the hierarchy were hypocrites, thieves, and self-righteous liars—he actually told them so to their faces—they didn’t like it one bit.

I was never taught and neither have I ever been taught that Jesus death was sufficient for my total redemption—that could only come through the workings of the ‘Church’ who held the ‘keys to the kingdom’ in their hands. In the meantime, the Jews were the most despicable people ever to be created—that’s what I was taught.

As I got older, I began to see in the activities of so-called Christianity identical semblance to the Jewish hierarchy—lording over its subjects, extorting money from them in God’s name, human abuses of all kinds some of which are unimaginable (extreme torture followed by burning alive at the stake), threats of eternal hell, etc., just to name a few. In light of those observances, I was compelled to extract the truth from all the garbage. In doing so I was forced to develop a complete philosophy in order to justify Christianity of any kind. That I did.

IMG_0082The first unanswered and most critical question was ‘just who is this God everyone has been rambling on about forever?). Through extensive research and study, I discovered that no one had ever defined the ‘essence’ of that God. I knew instantly that without an essential definition, their god was simply a myth—what  consternation that discovery created in me!!!  I had to define God’s essence.

Eventually after years of study and pondering, and more precisely after studying ‘particle physics’ (quantum mechanics), I was able to make that definition in irrefutable terms. In Particle Physics, I discovered that everything in this universe is made of identical particles of energy, each prefect in form and function, and each ever unchanging. I realized right then that I was seeing and describing God. God is a Perfect Rational Being. Bingo!- that definition explained all. Succicently, it explained in no uncertain term who Jesus was and, more importantly, what his mission was. Very simply put, his mission was to die for the expiation of all the selfishness (evil) in the universe—God’s perfect love must be exposed.

So, the ‘what if Jesus’ had not died is the big, big question. Frankly, I don’t know the answer to that question. In reality, it’s a theoretical, immaterial question anyway and does not pertain. The fact is Jesus did die for a very specific reason.

IMG_1065So, how bad were the Jews? I’d vouch to say no worse than any other society that ever existed including ours’ right here in the good old USA. Jesus simply used his fatherland brethren as a vehicle for executing his plan and purpose. He had to die—he saw himself as the messiah, the sacrificial lamb who would exonerate us all—he did. Thank God for Jesus and for the Jews!!!!!.

PRAYER-Hilary L Hunt MD

cropped-img_0360-1-e1509913859388.pngPRAYER-Do you pray, and if so, why? To whom do you pray and what do you expect from your prayers. I was taught that there are basically three kinds of prayer, contrition, petition , and thanksgiving.

In prayers of contrition we acknowledge to God and the Saints in heaven that we are sinners, express regret and sorrow for our sins and vow to sin no more. Of course, as a practical matter, we break that vow almost before it gets out of our mouths. Most people know the Ten Commandments but, likely as not, the only ones of  consequence in their minds  are number six and number nine. Not many people kill someone in cold blood—neither do many rob a bank. I would suggest to you from my observation of peoples behavior that the most frequently violated commandment is number eight—number ten runs a close second. However, it is quite obvious to me that most people consider it to be their right and privilege to be both critical and envious of their neighbor without the slightest thought of it being ‘sinful’. And what about that ‘honor your father and mother’ deal—disrespect of parents has become so openly blatant as to be scandalous.

Now here’s my favorite—prayers of petition. I have pondered endlessly what people expect when they beg God to change his mind. Again, it seems quite obvious to me that they have no realistic notion of what they are asking. Basically what those prayers are doing is asking God to  momentarily ‘dash out of eternity’ into our ‘time world of change’, make a rearrangement (miracle) just for them and then immediately dash back into eternity. In my book Wilderness Cry, I define the essence of God— God is a perfect rational being. That definition in itself excludes any possibility of God being able to ‘change’ anything. God’s Perfection means no change is possible. God’s existence in eternity, a state of being without change, precludes any possibility of God being able to change anything. Time is a measure of change—there is no time in eternity. I believe that all of that thought process stems from the ‘creation theory’ of the universe—God made it, so he can change it any old time he wants. Well, in the days of scientific void, that dog hunted well. However, with our scientific understanding of God’s ‘real creation’ that old dog just won’t hunt any more.  We now know that God made only one creation, the tiny little particles of energy (quanta) of which everything is made. Each of them is perfect and unchangeable—each exists in eternity with God (is God). Therefore no change is possible—physical miracles are a scientific and philosophic impossibility.

IMG_0082Now here’s my favorite—prayers of thanksgiving. Admittedly, we have so much to be thankful for—our life, our sustenance and our salvation through Jesus. So, its understandable that we may feel moved to give God his just due  with a hearty ‘thank you’. The question is, do you believe God is perfect? If you don’t, you’re admitting to the possibility of a ‘superior god’ to yours. If you do, and who can legitimately deny it, you’re admitting to God’s Perfect love. So just what is ‘perfect love’? It is acceptance without conditions—God accepts (loves) us regardless of what we do—God knows WHY WE BE. He allowed us to ‘BE’ and why? So he could show us his perfect love through the death of his and our mirror image, Jesus. So, should we be thankful?— absolutely. Does God care?—not in the least. His caring would demonstrate a weakness in his character—certainly not perfection.

So, what’s all the praying about? I’ll submit to you that prayers of contrition are chastening and potentially beneficial for making us better people toward God and neighbor (‘You shall love your God with your all and you shall love your neighbor as yourself. [paraphrased] ).

I accept the scientific and philosophic principle that prayers of petition are worthless. Asking God to do something he cannot possibly do borders on blasphemy. In addition, they, unwittingly, demonstrate our extreme degree of self-centered selfishness. Just for one moment consider the ultimate consequences of such prayers—if God ‘answered’ everyone’s such prayers, there would be no suffering or death, no inconvenience of any kind—we would be in a New Paradise where snakes talked; bears, lions, and alligators rubbed noses with loving kisses and all is well—a veritable fantasy world. Have you taken note of how often we pray for the miraculous cure of a dreaded disease, but in spite of all the prayers, our loved one dies—does that mean God doesn’t love us, or maybe we didn’t ‘pray hard enough—do you accept that responsibility—do you feel guilty ? On the other hand, how often do we see people successfully undergo the simplest of medical procedures or get well from a common cold, and declare it a miracle because they prayed—I wonder what they really mean or just what understanding they really have.

Now we come to prayers of thanksgiving. While I believe that God expects nothing from us, prayers of thanksgiving are humbling and remind us of our eternal dependence on God—that’s a good thing.

IMG_1065One must ask where all these ideas about prayer come from in the first place. I can assure you they came directly from the imaginary minds of mythology. I have belabored this point ad nauseum, but all religion stemmed from the imaginary idea that God was/is a punitive God and must be appeased. All religion is irrational because it has as its basis an imaginary, mythical god. My God is real—I have defined it—can you define the essence of your god?

My two little books , Wilderness Cry and Peace in Spirituality spell it out completely. I am attaching Covenant Books Press Releases and Video trailers. If you truly want to ‘wrap your arms’ around what you should believe (accept) and why, please read my books.

Again my call for recognition and acceptance of The World-wide Communion of Spirituality.
