THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS (revised) — HILAY L HUNT MD

It is very likely that many, maybe most, of you have never heard of The Gospel Of Thomas. In truth, neither had I until about thirty years ago. In my research, I accidently discovered a reference to it, and being inquisitive, I purchase a book, edited by Ron Cameron, titled, The Other Gospels. What I discovered was a rather ‘eye-opening’ history of which I was unaware. It represents part of a cache of Coptic Christian writings found in a cave in 1945 at Nag Hammadi, Egypt. Furthermore, it seems clearly to predate the Canonical Gospels for two reasons. It appears to be Jesus talking directly to his disciples, with Thomas as the transcriptionist, and more importantly, it contains no mention of Jesus’ Pasion, Crucifixion, Resurrection, etc., as do the four Canonical Gospels. That, of course, implies it was written while Jesus was alive.

While first reading it, I was taken aback by some of Jesus’ statements and proclamations. His apparent description of God as being in all things, and being the ‘soul’ of everything, seemed to me to be in stark contrast to the ‘dualistic’ nature of the God which I had been taught in my Roman Catholic upbringing and education. I had always been taught that God was separate from his creation. He resided in Heaven, a ‘place’ somewhere in the sky where he was able to observe everything that went on in his universe. In fact, in the Old Testament, God is described as being very ‘vengeful’ and ‘hostile’ at times. However, he could show ‘mercy’, but one had to beg incessantly, and even ‘bargain’ with God to get it.

Well, also, there was a time when rich people could actually buy God’s mercy. You know, that seems like a paradox to me because, in one of the Canonical Gospels, Jesus is quoted as saying, “it would be easier for a camel to go through the needle’s eye than for a rich man to get to heaven”. Think about that for a second—the very thing that separates man from God, money, could be used by that same man to buy a ticket into God’s Heaven—hmm. Well, we know, of course, what he really was buying was a ‘clear conscience’, while, at the same time, enriching the Vatican coffers which had been depleted by squandering Popes. By the way, for the uninitiated in Roman Catholicism, that ticket was/is known as an ‘indulgence’. Later on, those tickets (indulgences) were attached to prayers—every prayer in my thick daily missal granted a varying number of days indulgence (reduced time in purgatory) by its reciting.

Certainly, there was never any notion taught to me that God lived in me, or a rat, or a grain of sand, or a flower etc.. It is possible, however, that God, once upon a time, might have lived in snakes, because snakes could actually talk to humans way back when—of course, they can’t now—well, maybe they do, and we just can’t understand them. Anyhow, years later, after Jesus’ death, the Apostle, Paul asserted that we are ‘temples of the Holy Spirit’—don’t you just wonder what his understanding of that statement was? —I do. It seems clear to me that likely no one, including Paul, understood what he was saying. I am allowed to say that because roughly three hundred years later, the squabbling Bishops who met in Nicaea, at Emperor Constantine’s behest, to form an ‘official Christian (catholic) Church, certainly didn’t know, and still don’t—they have yet to define the essence of God or the Trinity—I have done both.

It was several years later, while studying particle physics (Quantum Mechanics), that the Gospel of Thomas (Jesus’ direct words) began to ring true. Jesus was instructing them, unequivocally, that everything resided in God, and that God resided in everything. The Gospel of Thomas gave me the ‘Philosophical basis’, and Quantum Mechanics gave me the ‘Scientific Basis’ for defining unequivocally, and irrefutably, the essence of God—God Is A Perfect Rational Being. That definition not only allows for, but demands Trinity, and, furthermore, makes a graphic, visual understanding of Trinity God possible. I will explain one more time here:

God, with his Perfect Intellect reflects upon himself. That reflection, being in the supernatural, is a living being, God the Son, identical to the Father and Perfect in every respect. Those two Perfect individuals visualizing each other perpetually have no choice except to love, choose, accept, will each other. That loving, choosing, accepting, willing each other is the Holy Spirit or The Will Of God. So, there you have a simple, clear, easy to visualize, graphic pictorial of the Holy Trinity — something we have always been told was unintelligible to us humans. The reason we were always told that was because the tellers didn’t, and still do not, know the essence of the God of whom they speak. Without that essential definition and understanding, they could not possibly understand a Trinity God. The Church, in its ignorance has ascribed the Son (second person of the Trinity) to Jesus — nothing could be farther from the truth. Jesus was a zealot of the highest degree. His intention was to supplant the oppressive religion of the Jews with an understanding that God is All Love. Jesus was a human genius who recognized God’s presence in everything, including himself. He knew he would be killed for his zealotry, but he had hoped to convert the entire world to understanding and accepting God’s Love through the missionary work of his apostles — he was a monumental failure.

His failure is clearly demonstrated by those who formed the Holy Roman Catholic Church some three hundred years after his death. They reverted right back to the Jewish sacrificial religion, as exhibited by their institution of the sacrifice of the mass as a substitute religion for Judaism — it’s still going strong to the tune of over two billion Catholics worldwide.

The Gospel Of Thomas clearly shows Jesus’ genius mind at work, disparaging organized religion as being, not only of no practical value, but rather a major detergent to peace. Instead of being a uniting force, religion sets people against each other—witness the constant turmoil existing among Christians, Muslims and Atheistic Communists today. Rather than worshiping and attempting to appease a mythical god, sitting in some ‘ethereal palace’, Jesus commands us to see God in everything in order to find inner peace and communion with God and his creation.

We have to understand that every creature is ‘our friend’ in God. You might object by observing that snakes, ticks, spiders, mosquitos, chiggers etc. bite us—so would bears, wolves, alligators, lions, tigers, etc. kill and eat us. However, we, in turn, do the same to them. The reality is that they, as well as we, have to eat in order to survive. Just as we, they are doing what God designed them to do. When we come to recognize God’s presence in everything, we see clearly that, in reality, all of God’s creatures are feeding off him—we exist in a massive, self-contained and self-sustaining selfish system of perfect rationality, which is God. Simply stated, homo sapiens just happens to be the latest creature to appear in Gods evolutionary plan—wouldn’t you love to know what comes next—I certainly would. However, I might not like being here— very likely, I would be the hunted rather than the hunter. Since the earth is predicted to exist another five billion years or so, that creature, and, maybe, many more are in God’s evolutionary plan.

Jesus ‘exhortations’, found in the Gospel of Thomas, continue to be ignored, as they have been since his death—they actually killed him because of them. He was a traitor—his philosophy would have destroyed their power base and eliminated their ‘money-grubbing’ control over their subjects by supplanting their sacrificial religion of appeasement with a communion of ‘lovers’ —all would see God in everything —all would accept Jesus’ command to love God and our neighbor— peace would prevail.

Four or five years ago, I issued a plea for the recognition and acceptance of The Worldwide Communion of Spirituality. That plea is for the recognition and acceptance that the Spirit (Will) of God is imprinted onto every particle of energy of which everything in existence is made. Therefore we, and everything in existence represent a ‘mirror image’ of God—should God be fighting himself? I think not—what do you think?

I have outlined my philosophy, as supported by The Gospel Of Thomas, in my two books, Wilderness Cry, and Peace In Spirituality. You could enrich your New Year by their reading with an ‘open mind’.

Since the above post was made, I have published another book, Provocative Catholic. It shows how religion of any kind is the main cause of discord in the world. It also shows that all religion is false and cultist because all worship a god which is mythical. I am not only allowed but mandated to say ‘mythical’ because not one of them can define the essence of their god. I have defined the essence of my God thus: God is a Perfect Rational Being. That definition dispels the myth of all known organized religions. Furthermore, it shows conclusively that our only ‘justifiable prayer’ is thanksgiving. Also, it offers a ‘foolproof’ plan for peace.

By the way, the word eucharist means thanksgiving, but the Catholic Church and its near mimickers have made it into a ‘sacrificial’ offering–-they are still trying to appease an angry god just as the Jews were doing two thousand ago when Jesus called them hypocrites, a den of thieves, and a brood of vipers. Jesus despised religion and readily said so.

CAUSE AND EFFECT — HILARY L. HUNT M.D.

Allow me to begin this message by dogmatically proclaiming that in the history of our universe every cause has produced a perfect effect. And every effect has been generated by a perfect cause. Additionally, it will remain that way until the universe ends in a final perfect effect it began with a perfect cause, the Big Bang, nearly fourteen billion years ago.

That first perfect cause, the Big Bang, released every perfect particle of energy which makes up everything in our universe. Because those particles are perfect in both form and function, are indistinguishable from their counterparts, cannot change nor be changed, and because they cannot be created nor destroyed by mankind, we are justified in declaring that they exist in eternity, a state of no change (time).

If we accept the concept of a God, we are justified in saying that those particles are God, or at the least, they exist in God. We also know that those perfect particles contain and exhibit all truth in our universe. So, since they contain all truth and perfectly perform every time, we are justified in proclaiming that they exhibit perfect rationality. Therefore, since they exhibit a perfect rationality and exist in eternity in God, we are mandated to define God’s essence as Perfect Rationality. And, since everything in eternity must be living, we must define God as A Perfect Rational Being.

So, we can readily see why no one, before the knowledge of Quantum Mechanics (particle physics) came to light, was able to define our Supreme Being’s essence. A myriad of people knew instinctively that God was in everything and everything was in God, but they couldn’t explain why — they could not define God’s essence — Jesus was the first to know God was in everything and that everything was in God — he didn’t know why.

I was fortunate, in my quest for knowledge of Gods essence, to encounter Particle Physics some twenty years ago. At that moment, I understood a basis for defining God — I was mandated to do so.

Having that knowledge made it instantly clear that every gross occurrence of any kind always produces a perfect effect (result). However, no two effects (results) have ever had identical causes. Additionally, it also became abundantly clear that in this universe no two identicals of anything have ever, or possibly can, exist — similar, yes — identical, no. Therefore, no two identical effects can possibly occur — those conditions are reserved for God in eternity.

Now, you might refute me because I am always calling for The Worldwide communion of Spirituality which means that each of us must recognize and accept that the Spirit of God, The Holy Spirit, the Will of God is imprinted onto every particle of energy which makes up our bodies and every physical existence in this universe — we have a commonality with every physical existence. That means all must be like-minded, but we will never be identically-minded. Like-mindedness would put us all in the ‘same ballpark’ close enough in our understanding to finally accept (love) each other as Jesus commanded — peace would prevail.

Do you see the cause-effect there? We would be close enough in our cause (thinking) to bring about a meaningful, similar effect, peace. It is the absolute only possible way that nonmilitarized peace can occur. Military peace is not real peace because some are being forced into submission. Sooner or later, the oppressed will rebel and the so-called peace will explode.

Were it not for hundreds of thousands of irrational religions worldwide, none of whom can, or have ever, defined the essence of the god they worship, we would have the possibility of becoming like-minded with resultant peace. In light of that multiplicity of religions, especially so-called Christianity, there seems little hope that like-mindedness will ever occur for one singular reason — the powerful will not relinquish control because of the loss of money with its associated empire building and lavish lifestyle.

Nevertheless, I feel compelled to share those understandings with you — take it or leave it — your prerogative, However, I believe and hope that if you will read my little philosophy books, Wilderness Cry, Peace in Spirituality, and Provocative Catholic with an ‘open mind’ you will find a causal-effect reason to change your preconceived thinking. In addition, you may find Growing Up In Fancy Farm Kentucky to be entertaining.

ESSENCE OF CHRISTIANITY — HILARY L. HUNT M.D.

One might be shocked to discover the various usages and understandings of the word Christian. As far as I can determine, the apostle Peter is the first to proclaim Jesus to be the Christ, the son of the living God. The word Christ means ‘anointed one’ or ‘chosen one’ and, even in Jesus’ lifetime, it became understood to imply a king. Remember, at Jesus’ trial, Pontious Pilate, the Roman Procurator who presided, accused or at least noted that Jesus was a king. But Jesus answered by saying, “you say I am a king”.

After Jesus, death, it seems clear that his early followers venerated and portrayed him as a king in their attempts to gain converts. Eventually those followers became known as Christians. However, those Christians told different stories and had different ideas about what Jesus actually said, did, and above all, what he meant. There were no written documents until Paul, a self-proclaimed apostle, began writing letters to his converted communities some fifteen years after Jesus’ death. Some ten to fifteen years later, John Mark, Paul’s companion, wrote the first gospel which contains no genealogy of Jesus and ends abruptly with Mary Magdalyn going to Jesus’ tomb the morning after his crucifixion, finding the tomb empty, and telling no one. Sometime later Matthew, an apostle, and Luke, a Greek convert, copied Mark’s work and embellished it on both ends with conflicting stories.

In addition, and possibly more important, Paul, whose missionary work took him all the way to modern day Portugal, and the apostle James who claimed authority in the East disagreed rather vehemently about what Jesus said and meant. Paul preached that faith in Jesus and Baptism were all that’s necessary for salvation. James, on the other hand, declared that salvation depended upon continued good works, prayer and fasting, in addition to faith in Jesus and baptism, were necessary.

Now, mind you, as so-called Christianity spread in all directions, it basically was promulgated by anecdotal ‘word of mouth’. So, no wonder that three hundred years later there was such a diversity of opinion and understanding of Jesus’ teachings and meanings. Each little settlement had its own bishop who had been consecrated by a superior bishop and who was the supreme interpreter of all things about God and Jesus in his area.

The anecdotal stories varied from one bishopric to another, so, there were frequent disagreements among them. Some of those differences were major and created verbal hostilities with some bishops being excommunicated by ‘higher-ups’. One of the major ‘heretical proponents’ were Arians who denied the divinity of Jesus. They professed that God alone is eternal and that Jesus was a mortal being not equal to the Father. Therefore, the Holy Ghost could not emanate from the Son — only the Father.

The bishops with the greatest number of similar beliefs eventually won out at the 1st council Of Nicaea in 325 AD. So, as in just about everything in the animal kingdom, the biggest and/or most powerful wins. Please note that winning has nothing to do with truth or that they were more correct —just more assertive and stronger. The weaker voices were excluded.

So, here we are near seventeen centuries later, and that dichotomy of righteousness has resulted in the so-called Christian world of being shattered into 45,000 different versions — each claiming to be the only one with absolute authenticity. In other words, all others are heretics. Now, why do you suppose that is?

The answer to that obvious question should reverberate with an astounding roar— ‘not a single one of them has defined the essence of Christianity.’ Not one knows who Jesus really was, what he really said, what he really did, or what his intentions really were— we have no reliable source of information. All we have are the loudest voices of the most outspoken who have systematically dissected Jesus of Nazareth into smithereens.

In my humble opinion, base on extensive research and study, they could not possibly know and understand Jesus because not one of them knew then or knows now who God is. If you do not know God, you cannot possibly know Jesus.  By that, I mean you cannot understand what Jesus was saying and doing in the name of God if you do not know God.

As I have pointed out many, many times in my writings, I am the first person in known history to define, irrefutably, the essence of God —God is A Perfect Rational Being. That definition by its very essential nature ‘wipes the platter clean’ of any and all past and present concepts of Jesus and God. If anyone in the basic formative years of so-called Christianity held such a concept of God’s nature, it was ‘drowned out’ by the majority ‘know-it-alls’ and never recorded in reviewable history. The only person, other than Jesus, himself, I am aware of who, by his lifestyle and actions, alluded to such a definition was Saint Francis of Assisi. Had he been blessed with the knowledge of science, he undoubtedly would have succeeded in defining God’s essence — he had the correct mindset.

The foregoing observations should make two considerations obvious. Number one: ‘without an essential definition of God’, understanding Jesus is impossible’. Number two: ‘we can never be one in peace until we all become likeminded in our essential understanding of God — then and only then will Jesus become real and will be accepted by all with the same understanding — the essence of Christianity will become self-evident to all and all will be one in union with God and Jesus.

I am fully aware that many have read my theses on these subjects in my three books, Wilderness Cry, Peace in Spirituality, and Provocative Catholic. Maybe, after reading this short dissertation, you will have a better understanding of what my books say and will read them again. If you have not read, I strongly urge you to do so. MOSES’ TEN COMMANDMENTS –HILARY L. HUNT M.D.

Likely, there is hardly a ten-year-old Christian or Jewish youth alive who has not heard of the Ten Commandments. In fact, it is most certain they have been instructed that those commandments were directly from God through his mediator and self-proclaimed emissary, Moses. In reading Moses’ encounter with God in Exodus, one is struck by the fact that no one but Moses could talk directly to God. More importantly, Moses was the only one to see and talk to God face to face. Also, one is struck by the sheer volume of directives associated with the Ten Commandments and, more importantly, how Moses was able to write all that voluminous material on two stone tablets which he was able to carry. I must admit, I have no idea of the language used for that writing, but the script would likely have been the size of what my typewriter is producing now — Moses must have been an expert stone engraver — his strength surely would have riveled that of an adult male gorilla in order to carry such a load.

But just who was this God to whom Moses was talking and, just as importantly, how did the wandering Israelites come by all their wealth of gold and silver which was mandated by God in construction of his ‘mobile home’? — after all, they were slaves in Egypt for 400 years and had escaped under the most stressful condition. Furthermore, how, and why would they be wandering around in the desert half starving while carrying the necessary equipment to melt and mold gold and silver into whatever shapes were mandated by God or desired by themselves? — the melting point of gold and silver is near 2000 degrees Fahrenheit — the maximum heat generated by wood is 1000 degrees F. You don’t suppose they had a secret coal-burning furnace they were toting around, as well as a secret coal mine in the desert, or better still a secret methane gas furnace, do you?

To the unsuspecting reader, all that story may sound plausible —I suspect the writer didn’t expect anyone to question it either. But to me, it’s a fairy tale not even riveled by Little Red Riding Hood, or Alice in Wondeland, or the likes. The most impressive thing about the story is the fact that only Moses was ever able to see and talk to God directly. That fact gave him obvious power and control over his subjects, which I suspect were the writer’s intentions in the first instance. Moses had his subject convinced that he was taking orders directly from God and passing them on to his unsuspecting subjects. Plainly, he seemed to me to have them deceived. If you remember, Moses was a murderer — exiled for years to save his hide. I don’t believe for one second, he was above a little deception to maintain power and control.

However that may be, as a matter of common civility, the Ten Commandments were, and in fact still are, a great set of standards of love and civility by which to live — it’s the God-thing which is grossly distorted. I believe, without the least doubt, the Ten Commandments came directly from Moses’ intellect — correctly and wisely, he recognized those directives to be necessary for maintaining order, peace, and control. The only way they were enforceable was to call them God’s orders with promise of swift punishment by God for any offenders.

In fact, it rapidly became obvious that God was perpetually angry because the Israelites persisted in offending him. Consequently, God demanded burnt sacrifices of animals and produce from them as a form of appeasement of his anger — that form of appeasement remains intact today by ‘sacrificial Christians’ worldwide — Catholics and their near-mimickers.

I am not only allowed but also mandated to make these observations based on one simple but, oh so important, fact — the ‘Moses God’ in no way resembles my God of Perfect Rationality. My God is all loving, all accepting, and is imbedded by his Spirit in every entity is his universe. He cannot possibly change his Perfect Nature — he would no longer be Perfect. So, I am forced to conclude that, not only the Old Testament of the Bible but also most of the New Testament, is made-up ‘fairy tales’ intended to tickle the writers fancy and maintain the ‘mythical God ‘of the Jews — their heritage. Professor Garry Wills, in his astute research book, What Paul Meant, shows conclusively that Luke, a Greek, is a veritable liar — nothing he wrote in Acts about Paul’s life and activities coincide with what Paul, himself, wrote. He simply painted a picture of Paul’s relationship with Peter and James, and religion in general, the way he wanted it. Prof. Wills shows that just like Paul, Jesus despised religion — he said that love was all that mattered and that love of God is an individual thing.

In light of that understanding, I have been forced to write extensively about that philosophy and its unbelievable ramifications. I have been forced to recognize the only pathway to peace for mankind is for us all to become like-minded. That is possible only through the recognition of our God of Perfect Rationality. In light of that understanding, several years ago, I called for the recognition and acceptance of The Worldwide Communion of Spirituality which means that each of us is in complete communion with (have commonality with) every gravid entity in existence by virtue of the fact that the Holy Spirit of God is imbedded in every particle of energy which is the substrate of all creation. Many before me, the most notable of all, Jesus himself, have recognized that fact. They just didn’t know how to put it into scientific and appropriate philosophical terms. Remember, Jesus said, “Split a piece of wood and I’ll be there. Lift a rock and find me there”.

I am renewing that call today. If you have not read my books, they are readily available from Amazon-Kendle, both hardcopy and digital or from me directly, autographed — handg@comcast.net. Btw., you must read Wilderness Cry first. Then, the others will have meaning.

As always, I welcome all comments or questions.

PREDETERMINATION — HILARY L HUNT M.D.

It is my understanding that there is a Protestant religion known as Presbyterian which professes a concept of ‘predetermination’ or ‘predestination’. Simply stated, that seems to mean that God, by his Will, has predetermined that some will be accepted into heaver while others will be condemned to hell. Given the timeframe and circumstances of religious turmoil which prevailed at its inception, I suppose that concept may have made sense to some. There was little known science of the universe at that time, and few understood that the God who created it resides in it. The Catholic Church was in shambles, and those who had bolted from it were left in a ‘basic vacuum’ of guidance. They had only the Bible, but it had been written and rewritten ad nauseum, so it was open to multiple interpretations depending upon the basic bias of the interpreter — it seems to still be that way — there are 45,000 different versions of Christianity in existence today.

At about the age of thirteen, I began to notice gross discrepancies in what I was taught as a devout Catholic and in what I could observe. I was terribly confused and disturbed and vowed to myself to ascertain a correct answer and solution for my consternation. Little did I know what a long and treacherous road that would be — it was mindboggling. As I entered college and studied more advanced science and philosophy courses, it suddenly occurred me to seek out an essential definition of that God whom all Christians were worshiping but each group saw differently — how could that be? Parenthetically, for those of you who may not be familiar with the exact meaning of the word essence, please look it up in your dictionary. You will see that nothing, including God, has meaning without an essential definition.

So, I went to the basics, the most elementary of which was an essential definition of that God — surely everyone knew the exact same God. What I rapidly discovered was startling. Everybody talked about God, but none could define the essence of the God of their talk. Obviously then, everyone had a different God depending upon each individual’s imagination. I rapidly discovered that no one had ever defined, or been able to define, God’s essence. At that moment, I vowed to myself to do so — little did I know the difficulty ahead. My first impulse was, ‘that ought to be simple’. However, as I attempted to put the puzzle together, pieces always seemed to be missing — I couldn’t get a complete picture. So, I did what all the preachers did — I went back to the Bible. As I read and reread looking for clues, it suddenly occurred to me that nowhere could I find an explicit reason or justification of why the Jewish hierarchy wanted Jesus killed — why did they hate him so? Sixty-five years later, I discovered the answer — it hit me in the face like a wet mop. More on that later.

For years, I struggled looking for answers. I read and studied everything I could get my hands on. I was aware that Saint Francis of Assisi saw God in everything but didn’t understand why nor how he arrived at that conclusion. I became aware that hundreds of theologians and philosophers of all kinds had attempted to define God’s essence but found it impossible — I wondered why such brilliant people couldn’t achieve such a seemingly simple task. Through a friend, I learned of a German Monk, Meister Eckhart who spent his entire lifetime reducing God to a near negative substance in his attempts. Much of his writings and lectures were considered to be heretical by The Inquisition’— thankfully he died a natural death before he could be burned at the stake.

Shortly thereafter I made an accidental discovery of glorious proportions — Quantum Mechanics or Particle Physics. There I learned that everything in this universe is made of identical perfect particles of energy of many varieties but all with the same basic characteristics — each is perfect in both form and function, none can be distinguished from its counterparts, none can change or be changed, none can be created or destroyed by man, and not one more or less is in existence today than at the moment of their creation (release) nearly fourteen billion years ago. It became quite obvious to me that those particles always have existed, and do now exist, in eternity. Are we not talking about God?

Suddenly, it struck me that a perfect rationality exists in this universe and if there is a God, we must attribute that perfect rationality to that God. Therefore, God’s essence must be irrefutably defined; thus, God Is a Perfect Rational being — God essence is Perfect Rationality. The implications of such a definition are staggering. First, it immediately abolishes the validity of all religion — all are worshiping a false God. That Perfect Being must be Perfect Love which means ‘acceptance with no expectations’. Everything in existence is in God and God is in everything in existence. Immediately I recognized that Francis of Assisi understood that seeming fact. More importantly, it struck me why the Jewish hierarchy wanted Jesus dead. It says so in the Bible right before our eyes: ‘Hear ye oh Israel, I’ll give you two commandments. First, you shall love your God with your whole being. second, you shall love your neighbor as yourself”. (paraphrased). Neither Jesus nor Francis knew Quantum Mechanics but both brilliantly recognized God’s loving (accepting), unselfish presence in everything. Jesus instinctively knew that God was Perfect Love and could not possibly hate or reject any part of himself, any, furthermore, since God is in us, and we are in God, he cannot reject us under any circumstances.

Remember, when Moses wrote the first set of Ten Commandments his purpose was to show his people that those commandments represented the correct way to respect God and neighbor. In other words, they represented a perfect code of conduct. However, when they laughed at him and ignored his directives, he wrote a second set and presented them as God’s rules — God would certainly punish violators — sin against God, as we know it today, was born. It was that concept which the Jewish hierarchy eventually formulated into a money-making machine for themselves at the expense of oppression of their subordinates.

Jesus could clearly see that oppression of his people imposed by the guilt-ridden religion of the Jews which Moses had begun for purposes of control of his subjects but which The King and High Priest had learned to use for making a continual fortune. “Get out of my Father’s house” he said as he overturned the moneychanger’s table; “You brood of vipers. You den of thieves”. That’s why the Jewish superiors wanted him dead. Jesus was preaching an all-loving God and not a vengeful God of the Jews. His intention was to supplant Judaism with a God of love — he was to be our liberator, not our redeemer.

I might make note here that nowhere in the Bible does Jesus say he came to die as an atonement to the Father for our sins. That philosophy seems to have been developed over the centuries by the Catholic Church.

Now back to determinism and predestination. Shortly after I published my book Wilderness Cry, in which I define God’s essence, a good Catholic friend of mine called me in a panic — he had to talk to me immediately. I told him to come immediately, which he did. As he entered my home, l noted he had several typewritten pages in his hand. As it turned out, they were questions he had for me. The first words he uttered as he sat down were, “You’re a determinist”. I responded, “you said what?” And he repeated, “You’re a determinist”.  “How do you figure” I responded. He replied, “You say God has already determined everything”. “You’d better read my book again. I say no such thing. You see, it’s like this. I see you sitting in my chair and talking, but I know for sure, one way or another, dead or alive, you’re going to leave my house this afternoon. But, because I know it, I’m not making it happen. I’m just observing and allowing it to happen”. “Oh, he said excitedly. I see. God doesn’t make things happen. He simply sets the wheels in motion and lets happen what will, but always in perfect fashion”. He promptly tore his papers in half and stuffed them in a nearby trash can. “I am so relieved. Can’t wait to get home and tell my wife”. We chatted about other aspects of my philosophy, all of which made perfect sense from that moment forward.

He did leave my house happy as a lark just as I knew he would. So, there’s a giant difference between knowing something will happen and even observing its occurrence, rather than making it happen.

Therefore, I mean no disrespect to my Presbyterian friends and any others who may believe in predestination, but I sincerely believe if they knew my God, they would know there is only one predestination-predetermination — eternity in and with God for everyone.

Chaos — Hilary L Hunt MD

Chaos may be defined as a state of complete confusion and/or total disorder. That exact situation appears to be happening in the Middle east today with tentacles extending worldwide. Innocent, or at least unarmed, people are caught between two hostile forces hurling lethal weapons at each other — most are defenseless and many die. Supporters of each side are demonstrating publicly worldwide with a noticeable number on major college and university campuses. Major news reports suggest that these demonstrating students have been ‘brainwashed’ by liberal college professors sympathetic to the Palestinian cause which seems to be supported by Hamas and other groups which have been labeled by the free world as terrorists.

And what is the basic cause of this hostility and chaos? It appears to me that it is a hostility between Judaism and the precursors of Islam. If we can believe the Bible, that hostility and bewilderment extends back to Ishmael and his nephew, Esau. If you will recall, Ishmael was the son of Abraham and his and Sarah’s Egyptian Slave girl Hagar which transpired at the insistence of his wife, Sarah. She was elderly and barren but did bear a son, Isaac later. When Ishmael was a juvenile, Sarah became increasingly jealous of Hagar and insisted on Abraham banish her and her son to the wilds, which he reluctantly did. That seems to be the beginning of hostility between Ishmael and Isacc and was furthered by Ishmael’s nephew Esau who was the elder of his twin brother Jacob and was fathered by Isacc. The Israelites (Jews) were descendants of Jacob while Esau is credited with being father of the Edomites who participated in destroying the first temple by king Nebuchadnezzar. The enmity between the Israelites and Arabs was engendered and has persisted to this day. There seems to be an ever-growing determination of one branch of Islam who are the descendants of Ishmael and Esau to totally destroy every Israelite in Israel. Nor does their enmity stop there — they seem hell-bent on destroying every human who is not a supporter of Islam. If I understand it correctly all non-Islamists are considered to be infidels and worthy of mandatory death.

That philosophy is in total contrast to the so-called Christian philosophy which says, ‘love your God with your total being and love your neighbor as yourself’ (paraphrased). Mind you, that was Jesus’ mandate which was totally abandoned by those who purport to be his followers and was supplanted by a quasi-Jewish religion of sacrifice which aims to appease a hostile God— The Holy Roman Catholic Church. I am keenly aware that many of you are totally unaware of your so-called Christian background, but believe me, it all began at the 1st council of Nicaea which was called by Roman emperor Constantine in the year 325 AD. He was not so much concerned with the unrest which existed in his empire as he was with the lack of productivity of the so-called Christians who were squabbling among themselves about what Jesus said, did, and meant, rather than producing for the Empire. It was at that council that Jesus’ name went down in infamy as a subscriber to a ‘punitive God’— as mater of reality, Jesus despised religion in all its forms and proclaimed an attitude of ‘love’ as the only means to happiness and to God— that proclamation got him crucified. Oddly enough, that rallying cry of ‘love’ was Paul’s also but seems to be ignored by the ‘sacrificial’ Christians.

Had he been teaching a philosophy supportive of Judaism; he would have been welcomed with open arms. But Jesus could clearly see the oppressive aspect of Judaism which had been connivingly usurped by the king and High Priest, all for their own personal monetary gain. There is no doubt in my mind that Jesus’ purpose was not be our redeemer by dying for us as appeasement of a Vengeful God for our sins but, rather his only purpose was to be our liberator  from the terrible persecuting blanket of guilt which had been thrown over us by Moses so he could exercise control over us through using God’s name as his power source. Jesus recognized God as Perfect with Perfect Love. Jesus knew that a Perfect God could not possibly be offended or changed in anyway. He saw God as Perfect Love which means God could not possibly hate or be offended by anything he had created. That philosophy was a total contradiction of Judaism –its promulgation and acceptance by the Jewish community would have completely supplanted the oppressive sacrificial religion of Judaism. Furthermore, and more importantly, it would have completely destroyed the money-making machine of the king and High Priest — they would have no part of that. So, they conjured up false claims against him and incited the crowd to demand his crucifixion — that was done to their delight.

The framers of the Holy Roman Catholic Church at Emperor Constantine’s behest could clearly see how this new religion must be a new, watered-down version of Judaism with themselves as the chief benefactors. So, they set up this new model which eventuated through the years with an elaborate cascading hierarchy from Pope at the top through Cardinals, Archbishops, auxiliary bishops, diocesan bishops, monsignors, priests and finally deacons — all backed at the time by the Roman Army — what a glorious arrangement!!!

That arrangement lasted through Constantine and his son’s reigns. Then the Roman Empire support became gradually weaker until total collapse with the fall of the Empire in 476 and literally all-hell broke loose. I suppose one could say there was a legitimate attempt to hold the church together through the next parade of popes, but the corruption of both hierarchy and priests alike is well documented and the disarray became rampant, culminating in a parade of bad popes beginning with pope Stephen V1 in 896 and ending somewhat with Paul 1V 1559. At that point in time, 1524, Martin Luther and others had seen, heard, and had enough of the overt corruption in the Church and rebelled starting the Protestant Reformation. Ultimately, Luther and his cohorts are reported as not being the ‘purest of heart’, but, at that time, it was very difficult for anyone to comprehend and discover what exactly was correct, coherent Catholic doctrine. Luther and others developed a doctrine of their understanding and liking, and the rest is well-documented history. The Catholic Church persists but has never recovered from those many years of scandal — likely, never will. Chaos has existed in the Christian world ever since.

In the years prior to Vatican 2, Catholics were shackled with the vilest of anti-animalistic controls the world could imagine. The Church totally failed to recognize that humans are only one species in a train of thousands of animal species with the identical, built-in, urges as all other species — reproduction at any cost, and food at any cost. On second thought, I am convinced that the Church did, in fact recognize those traits, but chose to, rather than admit and honor them, decided to use them for absolute control — such was my personal upbringing —I was 90 y/o yesterday. When Vatican 2 started, I was 23 y/o, penniless, in med school, one child and a pregnant wife — life was a torture chamber — no humans need suffer that torture because of senseless controlling religion — it created chaos in my life and the lives of many.

A litany of fearmongering controls, most of which centered around sex, were spewed from every Catholic pulpit in the world— artificial birth control of any kind was a mortal sin and strictly prohibited—likewise, premarital sex and masturbation. The prohibition against masturbation stemmed from the ignorant proclamation by Thomas Aquinas that all the babies were in the male semen and would be spilled on the ground to their death — a male chauvinistic, patristic attitude of male superiority which had been in existence for centuries — it would be unthinkable for a female to house the unignited babies —she was only an incubator.  In addition, there were absolute rules prohibiting consumption of meat on Fridays and Ash Wednesday. Purgatory, hell, and Limbo were in full vogue. My Daily Mass Missel contained page after page of ‘indulgence bearing prayers’. For those of you who do not know, an indulgence is a time reducing ticket in Purgatory. As a side note, the selling of indulgences by the pope was one of the major grievances of Martin Luther which prompted him to bolt the Church. Infant baptism was mandatory — all Catholic doctors, nurses and ancillary medical personal were counseled strictly to immediately baptize any new-born who appeared to be dying or in danger of death to avoid that child’s exclusion from heaven and thereby, be condemned to spend eternity in Limbo, a state of happiness, but never experiencing the beauty of God. Mixed marriages were strictly discouraged and were not allowed inside the Church building, but rather, were performed in the rectory (priest’s residence).

One of the most ludicrous mandates in my Diocese of Owensboro, Kentucky was that all Catholics must attend Catholic schools including colleges and universities. That mandate hit home when in 1951 my third oldest brother, Louis moved back with my parents to Fancy Farm, Kentucky with the intention of attending Murray State University. When my parish priest learned of that, he promptly informed my parents that they would be excommunicated if they allowed him to live in their house while attending a non-Catholic institution. Rather than cause our parents such consternation, Louis promptly moved in with our older brother, George who lived in Scottsdale, Arizona and attended Arizona State University where he obtained his degree in education. Of course, we know the history — with the advent of Vatican 2, the sisters, who had been the ‘free’ teachers in those Catholic schools nationwide, came out of the convent — catholic schools closed immediately — the Catholic Church was not about to spend the money to hire lay teachers. Suddenly it was no longer a mortal sin to attend a non-Catholic school —what a sham.

I mention all the above to show conclusively how the Catholic Church has used ‘sex’ as a ‘weapon of control’ in what seems to me an obvious attempt at, not only retaining but also increasing the number of Catholics in the world— the more Catholics, the more money for their coffer used mainly for ‘empire building’. I haven’t heard birth control (not even abortion) Purgatory, Indulgences, Limbo, mixed marriages, or divorce mentioned from a Catholic pulpit in over forty years — I wonder why. I think I know — religion has become less relevant in young people’s minds — they simply ignore Church rules and act according to their common sense. Consequently, they are dropping from the Church rolls. In response, the Church has quit talking about those oppressive rules and pretend they never existed. As I recall, when Pope Francis was elected and the conservatives of the Church asked him about that, he said in response, ‘None of the rules have changed. We’ve just got to stop talking about them (paraphrased). Those decreased rolls mean too much revenue lost — to hell with the souls. —I’ve always said that when the ‘money well’ dries up preachers of all kinds will vanish like ‘ghosts in the night’. That similar ruse has been used by the Church forever. They know that the older folks like me will soon be gone, and the young people have no interest in research and history. So, the Church pretends it never happened and it gets conveniently ‘swept under the carpet’ never to be seen again.

Let me get this straight for you. The Church has set itself up as the absolute voice of God here on earth. Any organization has the right to establish its own set of rules which members must obey to be members. However, the Church has set itself up as the absolute authority. So, it must pretend that God keeps changing his mind — I know better. God is ‘A Perfect Rational Being’, incapable of change of any kind.

Therefore, with this knowledge and understanding, I feel compelled to share it with you so that anyone who cares to listen will have a clear understanding of where they came from and where they may be headed. It saddens me to no end that these conclusions seem correct. However, if you have been following my writings, including my books, Wilderness Cry, Peace in Spirituality, and Provocative Catholic, in addition to my four hundred blog posts, you are aware that I began noticing discrepancies in what I was told by the Church and what I could observe in real life at age twelve to thirteen. Those discrepancies triggered in me a compelling determination to embark on ‘a journey of understanding, which culminated some sixty-five years later in my ability to do something heretofore never done — define the essence of God.  That understanding of who God is instantly nullified all religion of any kind because all are based on a false understanding of God — all may be likened to a coon dog ‘barking up the wrong tree’.

Growing Up in Fancy Farm Kentucky is a book about the first twenty-two years of my life. You may be intrigued to learn there are modern-day pioneers from the past.

If you are experiencing chaos in your life, I believe without doubt you will find peace and consolation in my books and writings

FALSE JUSTIFICATION – HILARY L HUNT MD

All my formative years and into advanced philosophical studies, there was one ‘absolute’ dictum concerning ‘means to an end’. Simply stated, that dictum is direct and straightforward — “Evil means are never justified by a good end”. In my naivety, I believed and accepted without much questioning that the world operated under that banner. As I grew both in age and maturity, I was able to discern much evil being imposed on people worldwide — WW2, Korean war, Cold war, Northern Ireland Protestants continually fighting with Irish Catholics, etc., etc., etc. — some nation, some ideology, some religion, some government, some person attempting to dominate others while all the time attempting to justify their activities as ‘good and desirable’, but which most of the world recognized as unadulterated evil.

Almost always the process involved attempting to deceive others through a process of rationalization —taking a known and accepted truth, combining it with false premises, and then presenting the conclusions as legitimate. That is a communications trick as ‘old as the hills’ used by scalawags to deceive and control others. Those same people will look you squarely in the eye and attempt to convince you that ‘cat manure smells good’ because the cat is pretty, playful, and cuddly, while anyone with a functioning nose who has ever been exposed to fresh cat manure knows there are few viler smelling entities in existence.

In modern day times and, likely forever, politicians are the best at such deceitful tactics — they come in many ‘shades of gray’ and wearing many different hats. Some want to be president of their local country club. Others vie for positions on their city council. Many feel compelled to be on their church board or become a deacon in their church. Some few even feel qualified to be president of a great nation, and inevitably, there are some who believe they should be in control of the entire world – that has been ‘the norm’ throughout recorded history.

I have observed throughout the years that one of the most notorious of such misappropriations has been and still is the Bible. For eighty years I have listened to preachers ‘prove a point’ by quoting a passage from the bible. As certain justification, the religious community worldwide has proclaimed that the ‘bible is inerrant’ because it is ‘the inspired word of God’. So, no quote can be questioned — only be interpreted according to the whims of the preacher.

Just recently, I posed a question to the Bible community concerning Matthew 16:18 where Jesus is quoted as saying, “You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hades shall not prevail against her”. With that quote in mind, my question is, how is it possible that the so-called Christian community has totally ignored that commission and turned to a self-made, man-made interpretation? I can sum the answer up in one simple little statement — it’s always been that way.

From day one, when Christianity started spreading westward toward Europe, each community had its own bishop who was the absolute authority concerning matters of faith and morals. History clearly shows that three hundred years later, one of the instigating factors leading to Emperor Constantine’s calling a council of the worlds bishops at Nicaea was the lack of productivity for the empire by the Christian community. That lack of productivity was generated by the constant squabbling and even overt fighting among bishops and their subjects. Those hostilities were generated by differing understandings and teachings about who Jesus was, what he said, and what it all really meant.

During that time, all writing and copying was done by hand. Because of the diverging interpretations among bishops, it is near certain that each bishop altered those writings to meet his own specifications. There were eighteen hundred bishops under the auspices of the Roman Empire at that time, so one can only imagine the magnitude of discordant views. Of the eighteen hundred, only three hundred or so attended the Council — they made the determination of what Christianity was to be. They chose which writings were to be accepted and which were to be rejected. To make matters worse, of all the thousands of copies and alterations of the original writings, only one copy survives today —that copy was made some two to three hundred years after the original, and no one knows its exact validity. We have absolutely no way of knowing exactly what Jesus said and did and, more importantly, what it all meant. Just as in war, the majority doesn’t necessarily determine whose right, just who wins.

By the time of the council, Peter’s successors had been seated in Rome for more than three hundred years. You don’t suppose some self-serving bishop conveniently inserted Jesus’ passage concerning Peter — who knows? — no one. Despite all those possibilities of teachings divergent from Jesus’, for over one thousand years the passage about Peter was accepted and respected — the Pope in Rome was the absolute head of the Christian Church. Then the power struggle between Rome and Constantinople culminated in the Great Schism — the Eastern Church severed ties to Rome. So, it is quite obvious that the Eastern Church hierarchy did not respect the ‘words of Jesus’. Then comes along Martin Luther and a host of others — if the Eastern Church can do it, so can we. In other words, we don’t have to believe and accept Jesus’ words.

So, now we have 45,000 such splinter religions each one pounding the bible while holding their constituents spellbound with ‘the absolute words of Jesus’. With that insight, what would you call such an activity? I know what I call it, ‘A self-serving sham’. The Bible is no more dependable for delivering Jesus’ message than a 10-cent comic book.

In all the writings in the bible, nowhere is it made clear why the Jewish hierarchy wanted Jesus dead. I believe that was/is deliberate. If they told the explicit truth in their writings, they would ‘shoot a hole’ in their self-serving new version of Judaism. They knew that Jesus only teaching of noteworthiness was ‘love’ — love of God and love of neighbor. They knew that Jesus was a subversive traitor to their ‘sacred, money-grubbing religion’. Jesus’ teaching of love would completely negate their sacrificial religion with its attendant enslavement of their constituents.

Jesus never said nor intended to be our sacrificial lamb of appeasement of a vengeful God. His only purpose was to be our liberator. He intended to free us from the terrible persecuting blanket of guilt imposed by Moses and Judaism. His aspiration was to be emulated years later by Martin Luther King — “Free at last”. He had hoped to get his message to enough people that, after his death, they would continue to spread his word of God’s love — such a brave, heroic, and daunting move —a subversive insurrection of all times. The hierarchy knew that — if the entire Jewish population rebelled, the Roman emperor would be terribly displeased — the freewheeling Jewish government would be abolished — their playhouse destroyed. They were not about to let that happen. So, they trumped-up lies and false charges against him and murdered him on a cross. I daresay that Jesus’ intention was the most daring, courageous, heroic, and praiseworthy undertaking the world has ever known.

So, where does that leave us, the everyday, common sense, John Q citizens? Unless you are one of the very few who takes the time and makes the effort to ferret out the truth, you are living in a fairyland of entrapment of your entire being. And, I am not saying that in a derogatory way — we all have been brainwashed by those who wish to control us. That control almost always culminates in their absconding with our pocketbooks.

In my research, I have been able to uncover only one writing outside the Bible which depicts Jesus explaining over and over again and again who and what God is — those dicta coincide perfectly with my definition of God’s essence — God is a Perfect rational Being — heaven is a state of being, not a place —eternity is a state of being where no time (change) exists —the Spirit of God resides in every entity.  That writing is The Gospel Of Thomas. It was rejected by the Council Of Nicaea for one compelling reason — it would have immediately put them out of business.  Likely, most of you have never heard of Thomas’ Gospel — you won’t find it under the back cover of your bible. It represents Jesus’ ‘secret sayings to his twin brother Thomas, Peter, Mary Magdaline, and possibly two or three others. It seems obvious that Jesus felt that they were the only ones who would understand what he was saying.

The idea that the bible is ‘inerrant’ is completely ludicrous and obviously self-serving — there are too many contradictions which cannot be reconciled. It seems apparent to me that the composers of the Gospels wrote what suited their fancy. For instance, the gross discrepancy between Matthew’s and Luke’s description of Jesus’ interaction with the two insurgents who were crucified with him — both stories cannot possibly be true which leads one to suspect that neither may be true.

It is rather clear to me that the writers ‘painted pictures’ detailing their own wishful thinking but probably having nothing to do with the truth —we’ll never know. Then we have the Apostles Creed recognize by most of Christianity which says, ‘Jesus descended into hell’, while Luke’s fancy puts Jesus and one of the insurgents in heaven at that identical time— what are we to know (believe)? —nothing. It presents an unresolvable paradox.

I am fully aware that most of you, just as I, have been brainwashed by your church to soak up everything they say and preach without question. It distresses me to no end to say this, but I believe without reservation that no religion I am aware of is legitimate. All are worshiping a God that does not exist — the same mythical God presented in the Garden of Eden. I believe without being able to prove that there is God, but my God is Perfect Rationality. My God created a universe of absolute truth outside of which there is no truth. That perfect truth is manifested by the fact that every event since the beginning of time has generated consequences perfect for its given set of foregoing conditions —no exceptions. That perfection cannot be altered.

We all have been led to believe that God can ‘change his mind’ — He can like you one day and despise you the next — if you beg him hard enough, he will change his nature and work a miracle just for you. Of course, that is an impossibility — any change would instantly take God out of eternity and into a temporal world, and immediately destroy his perfection. But you see, those who wish to control us, knowing that few will discern their fallacies, have found that depiction of God extremely beneficial for their ‘controlling selves’ — It’s called power and money.

In my humble estimation there is only one legitimate prayer and that is a prayer of Thanksgiving. Prayers of contrition are OK if directed at introspection – recognizing that we have offended our fellow man — God cannot be offended — over and over again, we fail Jesus’ command to love our neighbor. God expects nothing and accepts nothing. Everything in his universe functions with absolute perfection — criminals are developed by psychological circumstances. They are not born criminals.

So. lest we jump the track with our ideas, it suffices to say that it behooves each of us to do introspective ‘soul-searching’ in our attitudes toward God, religion, and government. There’s an old saying which demands our attention.  We must view everything with a jaundiced eye.

GULLIBLE – HILARY L HUNT MD

The word gullible implies a certain sense of naivety or stupidity, and in many instances that implication is applicable. For instance, we could say small children are extremely gullible concerning such things as Santa Claus and Easter Bunny, etc. And that is totally understandable because they are not yet educated in the basic principles of life and existence — the proper term is ‘ignorant’. They are not stupid or totally naïve — they simply do not know.

To some degree or another, that same principle applies to every adult who ever lived— no human has ever known or ever will know every truth in the ‘perfect truth system’ which exists in our universe. So, in that sense, we all have been, are now, and always will be, gullible in many areas of our lives. However, there are many areas of our lives where gullibility is inexcusable. For instance, any time we have opportunity to learn and deliberately reject it, we are establishing a circumstance for ‘culpable gullibility’.

There have been, and likely still are, innumerable instances in our lives when, through no fault of our own, we have been led down the ‘primrose path’ of ignorance by the ‘know-it-alls’ to believe all sorts of erroneous things — remember when the earth was flat? — remember when the earth was the center of the universe? — remember when our little solar system was the universe? In most instances, the people who convinced us of such nonsense were ignorant of the truth. However, their understanding and ‘dogmatic teachings’ fit into a scheme of imagination and ignorance much larger — it was an integral part of their ‘totally controlling religion’. Remember the ‘Tower of Babel?’ Those people were certain that heaven was in the sky and reachable by a tall enough tower— such was their ignorance.

So how do we avoid gullibility? We can’t completely. There are so many things we must take on ‘faith’. And what is faith? It is the acceptance that something is true without personal scientific knowledge. However, if something sounds ‘too good to be true’, it behooves us to investigate and learn the real facts for ourselves if possible. If not possible, we’re simply stuck with a possible myth without being able to know factually.

It is only through ‘science’ that we come to know the truth. The word science comes from the Latin word scientia which means knowledge. Knowledge is truth, and there is only one truth about anything in our ‘perfect truth system’. It behooves us to know all the truth we possibly can and to seek out others who have investigated and learned truths which we have not or cannot. But, there again, we must put our trust in others — needles to say, a $64,000.00 question in itself.

The gullibility I wish to specifically address today is that found in the followers of any and all religions, worldwide. All religions and their thousands of subdivisions had their beginning in the ignorant imagination of someone(s). Without any scientific knowledge of any kind, they uniformly and systematically developed a scheme of religion based on their miniscule, superstitious minds. Not only that, but in most cases, their scheme ultimately gave them ‘control’ of their followers. Often that control afforded the leaders not only control of their followers’ minds but also their purses — religion became a self-serving scheme. That is ever so much more obvious today.

In the case of so-called Christianity, that exact scenario was so rampant and obvious that it prompted Jesus to give his life in a failed attempt to educate his people and, not only eliminate their oppression, but also simultaneously, relieve their gullibility — from my perspective, he was a total failure. His commands and teachings of love have been totally ignored by those who purport to represent him. Each of them has a ‘different angle’ of disinformation with which to control their gullible followers —and gullible they are.

I came to that conclusion as a juvenile and young teenager. I could clearly see that the God about whom I had been taught did not exist. I had been taught that God would answer our prayers, but my observations told me differently. Absolutely nothing that I or our entire parish prayed for ever came to fruition — not even once. When I asked my parish priest why that was, he stated very directly and correctly, “it is God’s will”. From that moment on, I knew that begging God for something was a total waste of time and energy, but I didn’t know why —I determined at that very moment to find out.

It was several years later while studying philosophy, including Logic, in college that I recognized the basic problem — no one knew who Gad is. They all were expounding and pontificating about an entity that was a myth —no one had ever defined the essence of Godminus an essential definition, nothing has meaning. I determined at that very moment that I would define God’s essence. Little did I know the seemingly insurmountable task it would be. Sixty years later while still diligently searching, I found it. In the eternal realm of Quantum Mechanics (particle physics), I discovered that everything tangible in this universe is made of identical particles of energy with various names, which cannot be further subdivided, cannot be identified from any one of its counterparts, are perfect in both form and function, cannot be created nor destroyed by man, and cannot be changed in any way. Are we not alluding to something that exists in eternity? I believe without doubt that we are. Therefore, everything that makes up the basics of all temporal things (atoms and molecules) are themselves eternal. Cumulatively, they represent and present a perfect rationality.  With that understanding are we not then obliged to ascribe that Perfect Rationality to a Perfect Intellect? And if so, who has a Perfect Intellect other than a Perfect Rational Being? Can there be any Perfect Rational Being in this universe other than the one we call God? I think not. Therefore, we can say with certainty that God is a Perfect Rational Being and God’s essence must be defined as ‘Perfect rationality’.

More importantly, that essential definition implies a graphic understanding of the Trinity:  A Perfect Intellect (God the Father) would reflect upon himself and see a mirror image which being supernatural is a living being identical to its generator (God the Son). Then two identical Perfect Intellects viewing each other would have no choice except to love, accept, choose, will each other (the Holy Spirit — Will of God) — a perfect graphic of the Trinity dispelling all the fabricated myths about Jesus. As a matter of certainty, Jesus never suggested nor said he came to die for our sins by appeasing the Father. His intention was to ‘liberate us from the blanket of guilt’ imposed on us by Moses for purpose of control, and which later was used to extract our hard-earned money under the guise of appeasing a vengeful God. Jesus’ God was/is ‘all love’.  That identical ruse of appeasement is still being used by most Christians today.

For the uninitiated to my works, I have published four books. Wilderness Cry, Peace in Spirituality, and Provocative Catholic spell out my philosophy clearly and succinctly. Growing Up in Fancy Farm Kentucky will give you a humorous insight into my childhood and upbringing through age 22. All are available Amazon-Kindle, and from me, autographed. handg@comcast.net

I might add that Wilderness Cry was Online Book Club’s ‘Book of the Month’ in Dec 2020. It also was their ‘Book of the day’ on two separate occasions — a considerable honor.

DISTORTED TRUTH — HILARY L HUNT M.D.

One definition of the word ‘distorted’ is ‘to give a false or misleading account of something’. In line with that definition, I wish to address an issue which pervades literally every corner of so-called Christianity.

Our local paper frequently runs articles about God and religion, usually written by ordained ministers. Just today, I read one such article which caught my attention. This author addresses correctly literally every basic aspect of the physical universe — its basic make-up and perfect function and in doing so he attributes all to God’s work of creation. In addition, he supports many of God’s actions and attribute with applicable and justifiable quotes from the Bible, both Old and New Testaments.

In doing so, I believe without doubt that he is presenting a distorted view and understanding about God, his activities, and, more importantly, his methods. He is quoting biblical writers who are to be commended for their insights and recognition of a God who created all, but because of their lack of scientific understanding, their presentations were derived from mythology, astrology, and their individual superstitions and imaginations.

Those writers of the Bible had absolutely no idea of the real basic make-up of the universe and its perfect function. Consequently, our present-day writers are perpetuating the same identical mythology and distorted misrepresentation of God, his activities, and more importantly, his methods as they.

All this distortion comes from one pinpoint fact— not one of those original biblical composers, nor those who quote them incessantly, know what they are talking about — none can nor have defined the ‘essence’ of the God of whom they speak. Minus that essential definition, all their talk is a myth.

True enough, God did create everything in existence but what were his methods? The Bible and its adherents would have us believe that God physically made everything in six days but, more importantly, that God is set aside from his creation — He is an overlord.

They were trying desperately to understand God and for that reason, they surmised one of God’s attributed to be anger and wrath for their misdeeds. That conclusion was reached based on trials and tribulations which befell them — God must be angry with them and was heaping punishment upon. Of course, that conclusion led them to become certain that God must be appeased, and eventually that appeasement came in the form of official sacrificial offerings to God — sacrificial religion was born. Furthermore, for the vast majority of Christians worldwide it continues in Catholic Churches and its near mimickers, Lutheran and Episcopal.

Had ancient writer and preachers the benefit of knowledge of ‘particle physics’, they surely would have had much different understanding about God, his essence, his methods, and more importantly, his whereabouts. They would know that God is energy residing in every tiniest of perfect particles known as quanta, they would recognize, as I did, that “God is a Perfect Rational Being”. They would know that there is a ‘perfect rationality’ which pervades every corner of this universe. They would know that this entire universe is imbedded with a ‘perfect truth system’ outside of which there is no truth, and that all that ‘truth’ is exhibited and maintained by those perfect particles, collectively known as Quanta. They would be driven to conclude that the Perfect Spirit (Will) of God must reside in each particle to maintain its perfection. They would understand that God resides in everything — He is not a ‘set-aside overlord’ but rather, an indwelling presence in everything, else nothing could not be. Francis of Assisi, Jesus, and Meister Eckhart certainly had that understanding. They just did not know how it worked.

Again, Gods Essence, simply, succinctly, and irrefutably stated is this: “God is a Perfect Rational Being”. God is not a grizzled old man-like person sitting in a mythical place overlording his creation. God is in his creation, every particle of it.

I truly admire the efforts of biblical writers, but I truly abhor modern-day preachers who persist in spewing mythology rather than the known science of this universe. I think I know why — it’s called power control and money. Likely, there is much culpable ignorance involved also.

For the uninitiated, and as a gentle reminder for those who are, I have written extensively on this subject — three books and nearly 400 blog posts, of which this is one. My books, Wilderness Cry, Peace in Spirituality, and Provocative Catholic say it all in intelligible terms. Also, my book, Growing Up in Fancy Farm Kentucky, may tickle your fancy.
